    Physically Demanding Job and exercise?

    Hi!

I'm new to the boards and I was just wondering if anyone else has a similar problem.

I manage a horse farm, I also assist the trainer. This pretty much means I walk horses back and fourth for her to ride, clean the barn and saddles and tack and troughs, plus riding farm horses and training my own horse. I'm on my feet moving ALL DAY- 8am to whenever my boss decides I can go- usually around 7pm.

I used to be a belly dancer but 3 years ago I broke my pelvis and started packing on the pounds. Serious weight gain from the injury, my doctor said it could be from the back and neck injuries over the years. I feel like at almost 24 I shouldn't be in a place where I feel this worn all the time.

But I feel like I'm already excercising enough to not be so overweight? I crawl home and straight to bed every night and I teach on the weekends, on my feet following horses in the arena. I just don't know how to balance the tough job and going home and dancing or doing other exercise. Does anyone have any advice?

    Thanks!

    Amanda

Re: Physically Demanding Job and exercise?

If your job is physically demanding, maybe it's just your diet that needs revamping. I would start with changing how and what you are eating to see if that gets things moving. If that isn't enough, then you might think about doing some strength training and/or cardio training a couple times a week. Rebuilding the muscles will help you burn more calories while you are working, too. :)
