    Advice please

I will be starting with alli with in the next couple of days. My mom is helping me by giving me a list of foods and their accompanying information. My concern is that when I leave her home to return to where I am staying, I won't have access to the same type of food. We normally don't have fresh fruit in the house for any length of time because it gets eaten with in days. My grandma buys whatever food we do have and I really don't have the money to buy my own set of groceries. I am not working and I am going to school full time.

Looking at the sample menu and even at some of the suggestions for breakfast just seem to extravagent for me. I can definitely do toast and cereal in the morning but absolutely no peanut butter. But looking at what everyone else has written, it doesn't seem like that would be enough. Would it be? If it isn't what would be simple breakfast solutions without making a smoothie or making an omelett or waffles and again absolutely no pb (i just can't stand the taste or the feeling of it stuck to your mouth).

    thanks in advance.

    Re: Advice please

I'd suggest getting some staples (almonds, peanut butter, cheese) that you can easily add fat to your breakfast, reaching the fat goals are bery important in how alli works correctly.

You don't have to follow the meals suggested by alli, so make your own menus, be sure to plan well. You can work witch what you have, easily. Also, be sure to write down everything to make sure you are meeting or arent exceeding your goals.

    Re: Advice please

Well peanut butter is out. But what do you use almonds for or cheese?  Again I'm just trying to get ideas on how to make a simple and quick breakfast.  The sample menu and alot of what I read here on the boards is way to extravagent for me.

    Re: Advice please

The suggestions "ktstato" gave you are good ones.  You don't have to follow the Sample Menus precisely, and you don't have to spend a lot of money.

Look at the Menus, however, to get an idea of how to distribute your calories and fat throughout the day.  Then be sure you have three meals and one or two snacks.

You might put almonds in your oatmeal or over cold cereal to bring up the fat in you meal, if needed, and a grilled cheese sandwich could be an easy breasfast.

Make some hard cooked eggs and have one or two with some yogurt and fruit fro breakfast.  You might also take a loks through this  Breakfast Message, and scroll down further, to get other ideas.

    I hope this helps.

    Re: Advice please

Eat a few almonds with your cereal and toast. Roughly, 2 almonds = 1 gram of fat. Eat a block of cheese on your toast, or use a butter spread like Smart Balance. Laughing Cow cheese also makes spreadable cheese that is amazing on everything! Or try graham crackers and cream cheese. Use your imagination! I find I do better if I consistantly eat the same thing for at least one meal, so find something that you like and keep it consistant. Good luck, sister!

thanks for your advice the both of you though I find it, though I find it very impractical for me. I'll just try to figure something else out on my own.

    Re: Advice please

Without knowing what foods your grandmother buys makes it hard to make suggestions. What foods are usually in the house? I know what it's like to be in your situation and having to work with what is available to you, so with a little more info maybe I can help you.
