    Year anniversary of Weight loss

I have been on Alli since 2008 its been a year and  I have kept the weight off i have gone from a Size 34 to a size 26. I want to get down to a size 24 seems like its taking forever to get there lol But I have not given up. had it not been for Alli I would have not kept the weight off. I probably would have ended up getting gastric bypass surgery which I am so glad I did not get. Thank You

Re: Year anniversary of Weight loss

Congratulations, MissRo.  It feels good, doesn't it?

I started alli almost exactly a year ago, too.  I had hopes that I would lose 50 pounds in six months or certainly in 12, but I have only lost 37 so far.  But I still consider my journey this year to be a rousing success.  I am fitting into a lot of size 10s, which was my goal size, and I look and feel like my old, pre-fat self.  I get compliments on how great I look every day.  It's the best thing I have done for myself in I don't know when.  Maybe ever.

I still want to lose about ten more pounds, and I know that I will.  They come off really slowly when you are so close to the end, so I just need to be patient and stick with it.  That's what has gotten me this far.

Good luck to all of you who are just starting out.  Looking back, I really can't say that it was that hard.  It takes determination and patience more than anything.  Exercise is key.  When you get stuck and aren't losing, you need to do something different.  These boards are great to learn about the program and will keep you going.   You can do it and you will be so glad you did.

Congrats on your anniversary and thank you for sharing it with us.

It's inspiring to me to know that you can make it through the harder parts of the year, like Halloween candy season and the holidays food fests.

Re: Year anniversary of Weight loss

The Journey has not been easy The first week being on Alli I had my first treatment affect since being on it I have only had two and thats two too many lol My eating has changed so much

last weekend I went out to denny's with my family I had ordered a breakfast burrito which was cut in half some hash browns eggs Orange juice and coffee. I ate one half of my burritto 2 bites of my hash browns and eggs. I ended up bringing it home. My kids shook their heads at me and said " Normally mom you finish your plate you didn't even put a Dent in your plate"  I told them my stomach has shrunk I can't eat like I use to.

I still go to my favorite places to eat. just not all the time  instead of Supersize fries and a Drink I get a Small fries and a Small drink I cant even eat that sometimes. I have my splurge days which are on the weekends and I dont have those often. Chocolate I think is everyone's weakness I know its mine I just dont go chocolate crazy like I use to.  You Still can enjoy the things that you love just don't over do it.

when The holidays come around its all about portion control enjoy turkey ham dressing yams and whatever else just eat in small portions. I still make my cakes and pies for my family and I do eat them just very small pieces that is if I get any cause when I bake it only lasts 3 hrs lol

Alli does not tell you not to enjoy the foods that you love You still can just not all the time because if you are constantly eating fast food taking alli is pointless. Subways is My Favorite place never get tired of it lol My george foreman grill runs from me every time it sees me if it could talk it would say " Here she comes again What is she gonna put in me to grill this week....why wont she use the stove I am about to go on a grilling meltdown" lol  I still haven't figured out how to grill drum sticks and wings on my grill lol
