    Re: life after Alli?

Hi.  Congrats on meeting your goal!  I've met my first goal of 10 lbs. put I've seemed to plataeu the last ten days.  No weight loss.  Didn't gain which is a plus, but I want to keep the scale moving.  Any tips to get the scale to move?  I started July 1,2009 and have been on the plan for two months come tomorrow.

    Thanks,

    Re: life after Alli?

Hi Ladies!  Congrats to all on your losses so far.  Remember that healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week.  Weigh yourself once a week and no more.  Some weeks you won't lose, other weeks you'll drop 1or 2 or even 2.5 or 3 pounds.  (In my experience that doesn't happen very often.)  For the most consistent results, weigh yourself first thing in the morning, after using the toilet and before eating anything, and do it naked.  Nighties really do weigh a bit and can mess up your results.

Pinkroses, plateaus last weeks, not days ... you need to stop weighing yourself so often and keep doing what you are doing. If you don't lose anything for three weeks or so, it's time to make adjustments, like fewer calories or more exercise.

If you are exercising, eating right, and taking alli, you'll lose weight.  If you continue exercising and eating right but stop taking alli, you will stop losing weight.  You won't gain unless you stop or reduce exercising or stop eating right.  Execise and healthy eating need to be lifetime habits.

One of the advantages of alli, I think, is that you do lose weight slowly.  You have to be patient, but it is healthier for you and you are likely to keep the weight off.  It also means that by the time you have lost a significant amount of weight, the good habits of eating and exercising are well set.  They are the new normal, so you just continue them forever.

    Good luck!

    Caroline

     Caroline & tmser

Thanks for the advice, no I wont't give up.  I guess i was just expecting more my first week or two so I was a little disappointed.  Soda's have never been something I drink, so that's not an issue, I'll just work harder.  Thanks

    Re: life after Alli?

Angel, you may want to join the fun with us over on the 50-something board.  Weight loss does work differently at different ages and you'll find a bunch of us who are plugging along slowly but all doing it together and giving each other a lot of support along the way.  If this link works, you'll find it here: http://community.myalli.com/forums/27.aspx

    Re: life after Alli?

Caroline, no the link doesn't work, I've tried to find the 50-somethings, but cant.  If I ever do I plan to join in the fun, and I will make it a favorite. Someone said go to alli forums, they all say that once you click on any color.  I lthought it might be under the Green one Alli Personal Experiences but didn't see it.  I'll keep looking

Hmmm.  It works for me.  Make sure that you are signed in and then look for the red one, called something like myalliplan forums.  It won't be there unless you are signed in.

    Re: life after Alli?

Hmmm, well you have me stumped.  You have to be registered to get to the red stripe myalliplan forums that have the various age groups.  You are registered, right?  I think you can post without being registered, but you can't check in.  Maybe it's time to ask the technical moderators what's going on.

I like the people on this site, but really, they could hardly make it more difficult to navigate.  Good luck and hope to see you over their with the 50-somethings!

    Re: life after Alli?

PS.  By registered, I mean you entered a code number from the alli package (or booklet?) and signed up to start checking in.
