Discouraged because there is still no oil in the toilet!!!

Sorry to be so graphic, but I'm sure we all can relate.  I'm feeling a little discouraged because there is no oil in my stool as suggested,  The last time I tried Alli and lost weight, the toliet always had oil and grease in it.  Is it not working???????????

I'm just taking it one day at a time.  It's not a sprint, it's a marathon

Ohhhh.  Thanks Linda, I was under the impression that oily stools meant it's working.  Not, TE's bust just oil in the toilet.

*whew* it's refreshing to know that I'm doing it right then!!!  Yay me!

You only see oil if you ate too much fat. Don't worry!

yea your only suppose to see oil if you are eating to many calories or fat. though in the begining most people see it b/c they didn't take the first few days before they started the pills to do a low cal diet so that they dont have the effects (like i did lol) but if you dont have them its a good thing trust me cuz they are no fun.

keep strong and u will see results soo just stay on track and keep at it no matter how hard it becomes it will all be worth it in the end

Re: Discouraged because there is still no oil in the toilet!!!

    Hi Everyone,

You may or may not see oil when you have a bowel movement and when you do it may not be a treatment effect. The oil that is being excreted may come out separately when you have a bowel movement or it may be mixed in with your bowels. This can vary so you may see it one day and not the next. As long as you are taking alli within 1 hour of eating you will excrete 25% of the fat that you consume. When you go above 20 grams of fat in one meal you run the risk of a treatment effect. A treatment effect is an uncontrollable, oily discharge that can come out at any time, not just when you are going to the bathroom. Does this clear things up for everyone?

Let me know if you have any other questions,

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD
