New to Alli want to have others share their stories!! It's a little scary!

Hello all. Please provide some reassurance and comfort that I made the right choice going with Alli. The product terrifies me but can't think of a better way to keep food under control.

I was afraid too.  But as long as you stay within the guidelines, no problem!  I think the thought of the dreaded te's keeps me in line and if that's what it takes for me to finally lose all the weight I want and need to then so be it.

When did you start and how is it going?

    Cookies are behind me!

Yes, I know that my picture is hilarious.  I looked really surprised that my pic was being taken... but it was all an act.. this is my "surprised" face...

I was really intimidated by the product, too. Prior to staring, I read everything I could get my hands on about Alli. I perused this website for hours and talked to my doctor-who supported it. Doing the research really helped me a lot and it managed my expectations. Which, IMO, is a key element.

I did the low fat diet for a few days prior and took that time to absorb a lot of the information before I started taking pills. I was still leary about treatment effects, but I was fortunate enough to have my start date coincide with some vacation time. So, if my system did react badly-I wouldn't be at work.

I've been taking the pills for a little over two weeks. I've got thirty pounds to lose and I've lost a little under 7 lbs, so I'm satisifed that it's going in the right direction for me. I will admit, I tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to fat grams per meal. It's better for me, personally, to stay on the low end or even a shade under what's recommended-rather than worry and stress about what "might" happen if I push the envelope. I may get braver as time passes-but for right now-this is working.

Like any diet, I think it's what you make of it. Yet with Alli, there is the issue of treatment effects so it probably keeps me more honest than I would be on WW or another plan. And I've tried a lot of different plans. :)

Have you started taking the pills? How is it going so far?
