    Regulation & Rebound weight gain?

    Hello! I have two questions:

    1. I was wondering if there was any way I could encourage my body to schedule a BM for the morning before I leave for the day??  I really hate using public restrooms but if I wait then I'm uncomfortable all day!  I have had this problem since before alli.  Any suggestions??

    2. How many people who have taken alli have had rebound weight gain?  I know that I will need to keep eating healthy & exercising regularly once I reach my goal weight but I was wondering since I'm accustomed to eating a certain amount, once I stop taking alli, if I'll need to eat less just to maintain since I'll be taking in those extra 25% of fat cals again?  Should I maybe lose an extra 5 lbs past my goal just as a safety buffer for any weight I might regain?

    Thanks!

     Hi Melissa,

    1. I am not sure if there is a way to specifically schedule your BM in the morning (check with your doctor), but here are a few tips that may help you become more regular in the morning:

    • Drink plenty of water before your meals
    • Eat at least 25 grams of fiber, specially with your dinner so your digestive system is ready to dispose in the morning.
    • Exercise every day, may work if you do it in the evenings

    2. Once you reach your goal, you will be placed on a maintenance plan.  This plan usually recommends you stay at your last calorie level and continue with exercises.  It may require you to decrease a couple hundred calories and to exercise a little more so you can burn the extra food you may be eating.  It probably won't hurt to lose an extra 5 pounds to give you a little cushion, but I have not seeing many people do this..if they start gaining they try to cut some calories and exercise more.  Most people in the alli plan have lost the weight for good! I think you are on the right track.

Keep up the good work :)
