I dont know what to do!

     Im 20 years old.

I live at home with my parents and siblings.

I dont usually eat breakfast, but now I am going to try.

However, I dont know any things I could cook for my diet.

    Any good, fast, easy ideas?

    thanks!

Re: I dont know what to do!

Try using the section on your plan called my meal plan as a starting point. The meals suggested are simple for the most part and require little prep time.

I usually have the Hard Boiled Egg and Toast, any of the cereal breakfasts, or the granola breakfast. I just switch them off.

Bravo!  Breakfast is a very important part of losing weight AND maintaining it after.

Remember, the alli program is very flexible so you don't have to "cook" a breakfast.  You might have cereal, milk and fruit; two slices of toast with a soft spread and jelly, OJ and coffee.  Also try whole-grain toaster waffles or pancakes and fruit.  Have some regular or instant oatmeal with fruit and LF milk.  I often make a big pot of oatmeal (because I like the Steel Cut Oats) and then portion it into small bowls.  Then all I have to do is add a little water and pop it in the MW for one minute - literally.

If your breakfast has 5 grams of fat, or less, you can skip the capsule.  But that shouldn't be for more than one meal per day.

    I hope this helps.

Re: I dont know what to do!

I don't cook much, and I work and have to get my daughter off to school so mornings are a challenge.  Recently I had jaw surgery and was on a liquid diet, and my surgeon recommended ensure.  I know it doesn't sound appealing, but I've found something that works for me.

I buy dark chocolate ensure (they have milk chocolate also) and pour it into a small, portable blender.  I add a tablespoon of natural peanut butter and blend it up.  Then, I add a lot of crushed ice and blend it up real smooth.  It's sooooo yummy!  Like a chocolate peanut butter milkshake.  It has plenty of nutrients because of the ensure, and a about 19 grams of fat. (other flavors of ensure have less fat, the dark chocolate has 11 grams, and a tablespoon of peanut butter is about 8 grams.)

I bought this small blender at walmart.  Once I'm done blending, I just lift the container out of the blender and drink directly from it. It even came with 2 lids.  I use one for blending, then I replace it the other lid that has an opening in it to sip through.

Breakfast on the go, takes about 3 minutes, and yummy too. :)  Hope this helps.

Ensure is a good meal replacement.  That's fine for you to use for breakfast, etc.  It's fortified with vitamins and minerals and contains protein, carbs and fat in moderation.

Breakfast is truly the MOST important meal of the day.  Time after time, research shows it helps people lose weight more effectively and keep it off better than those who skip it.

    Keep up the good work!

Re: I dont know what to do!

     Pat,

Thanks for the reinforcement and encouragement.  I wish I could have "real food" and whole grains and fruits/veggies for every meal, but that's not my life.  It's good to know that my ensure breakfasts are "good enough" and that I'm on the right track. :)  Thanks again.

I  hear you! :-)  Very glad to know you're making breakfast a priority and if Ensure works for you: Go for it!
