    Re: McDonald's & Alli

Why are you using the words "McDonalds & Alli" in the same sentence?  Girl, are you crazy!  Don't do that to your body!  You deserve better than THAT.  Go look up the nutrition infomation online of those cheeseburgers and fries...it's gross the amount of fat in that junk.  That is just what it is too, junk!  If you forget your lunch again, at least go to Subway and try one of their "under 6g of fat" subs paired with a bag of baked Lays chips.  No, you can't load up the sub. with mayo or oil.  But you can put some spicy mustard on it and enjoy a sensible lunch that YOU will feel good about putting into your body.  Don't give up, be patient ... eat low-fat and number of calories you are supposed to, make sure you eat under your target fat intake per meal.  And very important...exercise, exercise, exercise.  Get moving, no healthy weight loss comes without exercise involved.  Good luck...and do not give up!

    Re: McDonald's & Alli

I am wondering........ If you're parents didn't take you to fast food restaurants, and that is the key to being thin......... what are you doing on an Alli message board?

    Re: McDonald's & Alli

I have eaten, at least once per week, a crispy or grilled chicken wrap with ranch and a medium vanilla shake.  I took Alli just before I ate and no treatment effects.

HI, I have been to McDonalds and only eat one small hamburger, the fruit parfait, and a medium

diet coke.  That is within our range of fat.  Maria

    Re: McDonald's & Alli

This is all about a lifestyle change.... not starving and depriving yourself. I have had mcdonald's a couple times while on alli.... you can have an egg mcmuffin with apple dippers or for lunch you can have a kid's cheeseburger meal with apple dippers. This is within our range and still reasonable in calories.

    Re: McDonald's & Alli

Goodness - such bickering.  You need to do what is right for YOU - however , just wanted to point out that not getting treatment effects DOES NOT equal good food choices.  4 chicken nuggets and a small fry OR a GRILLED ranch wrap with ranch and a medium vanilla shake have 23 fat grams per meal.  If you do not have TE that is great but it is still too much fat to eat in one meal if you are serious about losing weight and improving your health.  Obviously there are times when we are stuck on the road or running late and McDonalds may be the only option - but don't kid yourself that it is healthy.  The fat and sodium alone are scary - look at that more than total calories.  Also - the grilled chicken in many fast food places is injected with sugar, cooking oil and TONS of chemicals.  So you may think you are eating healthy (which is what the restaurant wants you to think) but in fact you are not.

    Re: McDonald's & Alli

We make these decisions as parents and what decisions we make, our kids have to live with. Hopefully we learn from our mistakes and try to help our kids bypass those so they can make brand new mistakes of their very own.

I'm here bcause I didn't always make the right decisions. I'm hoping they'll learn better. Soooo...let's be nice with each other because losing weight is a tough journey and parenting is a tough journey.

For those of you wondering about the stats - check out http://www.mcdonalds.com/. All the fast food places and many of the chain restaurants have nutrition facts on line. Read, learn, because the day will come when you'll be stuck and have to make a good decision on the fly.

...and Jared lost all his weight on subway sandwiches.  Can you imagine what they were eating before?  I don't care what anyone says, eating  bread, meat, and french fries is not a healthy diet for anyone.

I love how you're dieting and then you give your kids McDonalds. When I have kids I won't bring them to fast food places. My parents didn't. Spare them the need to take diet pills in the future.

Sweetheart, You need to live a little. Its always easier to say what you would do when you are not in the position to do it.  I think that was very rude.  Not only that, your parents may have not given you fast food, but they must have been giving you something......after all, you are on this Alli site.  Dont judge others baby.

    Re: McDonald's & Alli

That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard. So basically you are saying if I don't let my kids eat McDonalds because we all know how many chemicals are in their ingredients, meats, etc. I'm depriving them?!?

I'm also not gonna let my kids smoke crack, I guess that's deprivation too.

Get real. All fast food is bad. It's hardly EVER fresh, it's loaded with preservatives. I work in the natural food/ingredients industry so I know what goes in there. Get real parents. I judge you, yes, and use you as an example of how I will never be when I have kids.

     cheers! :)

    Re: McDonald's & Alli

um, did you not read the post. My parents did not let me have mcdonalds. I don't need to have kids to have learned proper eating habits from them.

McDonalds is addictive. It has chemicals in the food which set a wheel in your body to crave more. Didn't you see Fast Food Nation or Super Size Me, or have you read any books on fast food. I work in the nutritional industry, I make it a point to know these things.

    APPLE DIPPERS?!?!?

Why not just the apple? you're dipping an apple in caramel....hmmmm. It's not rocket science here.

    Re: McDonald's & Alli

if you look at my profile, I'm 5'8 145. Hardly fat. I take alli as a weight management professional. I want to see it's effects first hand. Not because my parents in podunk, ohio raised me on fast food.

Now, most nutrition professionals will try the products before endorsing them. Sorry I didn't mention that, but I guess that mums your statement.

    cheers:)
