    Re: It's Not Working!

You people are all really cool.  Very considerate and caring and I appreciate all your input so much.  My hats off to all of you !   Although we all hate the slowness of this message board .... it's worth the wait to see all the input and information as well as support that one gets from their posts.  Thanks to you all.  I will finish out this bottle of Alli and see where I end up. I think I'll wait until it's gone before I even weigh myself again ..... that is if I can hold out .... lol.  Luck to all and here's to all us future hot looking mama's and papa's! ....  Thanks again .....ElRocco

Sorry to hear that for yourself..but, if you read that the wine in take is more calories.

I stated this on June 23 and I also drink..and I still lost 8 pounds in my first week...

Maybe you should still stick to it...

    Re: It's Not Working!

Well all I can say is your weight changes from day to day. So you may have weighed before the weekend and continued to stick to your diet through the weekend but drinking the extra calories that wine has may have done it. Or maybe you lost some but not quite what it showed on Friday. That happens to me all the time. I weigh myself daily and one day in may show I lost a few pounds and then I weigh myself the next day and it shows I didn't. So weight changes when you are in the in between stage. So don't give up just yet. Just keep working harder. Weight loss takes time.

    Re: It's Not Working!

as of last night, i've decided to exclude alcohol from my diet until my whole first bottle of alli is gone. i'm pretty sure having a few vodka and diet coke's doesn't really help my waistline much at all. it's only empty calories! besides, when i have a drink then i really crave fatty foods (which i certainly don't need).

so, as part of my healthy, low fat, low calorie diet, i shall be banishing alcohol too.

in the long run, i'd rather sacrifice a few drinks and exchange it for actually liking what i see in the mirror.

I am also displeased with the Alli pill. I have followed the program to a tee. I am on the second bottle and havent lost any weight. All I feel is bloated. I will NOT buy the pills again. I think it is a waste of money. I am going to start another weight loss system next month.

    Re: It's Not Working!

First, congratulations on your weight loss.  I can relate to you in terms of eating one meal a day.  However, I found that was not the best way to lose weight and it took me a long time to realize that.  I met with a nutritionist who put me on a plan of eating 5 times a day.  In doing that, I loss 11lbs. within a month and a half.  I say all of this to point out that maybe it isn't the Alli pill.  If you are eating one meal a day, you may not be consuming the amount of calories and fat you need for the program?  This is just my opinion and what I learned from my nutritionist.  I'm definitely not a professional.  I started the Alli program on Sunday and have not seen any weight loss, but for me I lose inches before I ever see the lbs. drop.  I plan to chug right along.

     Good luck to everyone!

    Re: It's Not Working!

    Hi Iteewt,

I see that you found this post from back in July. This post is old so you may not find the people who originally posted. I tried to find out more information about your from your other posts. This plan is for people who are overweight or obese and none of your posts mention how much you weigh. I realize that many people who do not need to lose weight are trying to follow this plan. There are times when your body is at a healthy weight and losing more is not an option. As you can see from the majority of the posts on here, this is not a waste of money for everyone. This just may not be the right option for you.

If you want to share more information about you than I can try to help. If not, I wish you success with the other weight loss system.

    Re: It's Not Working!

OK, I've been on the plan about three weeks. I have not lost one pound. In fact, I sometimes am 1 1/2 pound above my starting weight of 168. I'm 5'5" and want to lose at least 35 pounds. I've stuck to the plan and I exercise at least 4 times a week. I'm 52 years old. I drink no alchohol.

I'm really discouraged and I'm upset about wasting my money.

    Re: It's Not Working!

    Hi Dawnhc4,

When you have gone over 2 weeks without losing weight it may be time to cut your calories. Take a look at my post on the beginning of this board about reaching your calories. That will give you some guidelines on how to cut back and start losing. You will also want to read my post about reaching your fat grams. That will help you get the most out of this plan.

Let me know if you have any questions,

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD
