    Anyone feel my pain???

I am 37 years old, wearing a size 14, would love to see even a 9. My mom works for Walmart, and called me a few weeks ago with the Alli news. I am SOOOO excited. I have been trying to go to reduced fat, and watching what i eat to get a little head start on this big change. I am married and have 2 children, 17 and 7. My daughter graduates next year, and would love for her to see me in something fashionable on her special day. I am so depressed in the way i look. Plain out miserable!! My husband never has complained about my weight, but i complain. I work in a school cafeteria, and i have been bringing my own meals. Its so hard when the rest of your family can eat anything, and you have nobody to share your feelings with on this matter. I wish EVERYONE of you the best in this journey.

    Re: Anyone feel my pain???

Tracy, I do feel your pain. I completely understand your situation--I too have a family, a skinny family.  Everyone always tells me I am beautiful even overweight, and that is nice, but I do not like the way I look.  Best of luck to you and everyone.

    Hi Tracy!

I know your pain so well.  I am also 37, wearing a 16W, and live in VA.  I can't wait to start this program.  Our church is doing Vacation Bible School next week and I help out with it.  I will be waiting to start the following week.  I don't want any Alli-oops or poops at church.  :)

Good luck on this wonderful new journey!

    Re: Anyone feel my pain???

I feel your pain too, Tracy. lol  It's hard to cook for your family, and then cook for your self too, without nibbling here and there. Yes, I could cook healthier meals for the whole family, but financially it's just not feasible. I have a big family and I have to cook in bulk. Mostly box stuff or frozen. I know it's not the best, but it's the cheapest when you have alot of mouths to feed. Best of luck to you.

    Re: Anyone feel my pain???

Thank you everyone for your response. It would be nice also if we could share recipes and stuff. I will start it as soon as my mom sends me my pills out. I will be out of work next week because school ends here this Thursday. So, i will be home realllly close to my bathroom, lol. I am getting more and more excited. I have been planning out my meals everyday for the entire day, and it seems to help bunches. I seem to be staying pretty full too. Cant believe i turned down rice pudding this morning, lol. We'll have to let each other know how our first day is of taking it.

    Re: Anyone feel my pain???

Hi all! To answer Tracy's question: YES, I feel your pain. It is similar to mine.

I'm a 37 year old mother of 4, kids ages 17, 15, 10.5 and 3.5, and I am a full time college student studying music. My husband is a civilian working on a military base in Iraq, so for most of the last 18 months I have been a single mom in some ways. Add in that I am surrounded by nubile, skinny little 18-21 year olds on a daily basis in class who eat every piece of garbage they want without gaining and you can probably feel my frustration :)

Before I married and had kids, I was skinny, 5'7" and 115 lbs.  Now I weigh 178lbs, and I am mad as hell at myself. I lost 30 lbs last year and have put 10 back on, so I am looking to get back on track. I wear a 10-12 pants size but a 14-16 shirt because of my large chest. I know that will decrease as I lose more, but that's something I'm willing to deal with!

Ideally, I would like to lose 50 lbs. I don't think I need to be 115lbs again- I was hardly eating anything to be that little. But I'd love to be around 125-130. I think I would look good and more importantly, FEEL good. I am hoping that along with my increased level of exercise and more commitment to a healthy diet, Alli can help me reach that goal.

I look forward to chatting with and supporting everyone I can along the way. Doing this alone is not a recipe for success- having those around you (even if it is only in cyberspace) makes a big difference.

    Re: Anyone feel my pain???

    Hi Tracy,

My name is Karen and when I read your message you sounded just like me. I to am married for almost 29 years and have 2 sons. My husband is great about the weight that I had gained over the last 29 years but he never says anything to hurt me about it, but I feel so FAT !!!!!  I never would of believed that I would be weairng sweat pants as much as I am. I do wear jeans but,, they are so uncomfortable. I would love for one day to be down to 125 and wear jeans that fit. My current weight is 157 so I  really have a lot to lose and it would be GREAT to have you for support..  I started my Alli diet today..  Did you ??  If you did how did it go today ? For my first day being today I think I did pretty good..

     KEEP IN TOUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Re: Anyone feel my pain???

I'm another on who misses her jeans!  I'm about 20 pounds over where I was when I spent way too much money on too many pairs of jeans.  Not only do I want to feel and look good, I want my old clothes back!  I purchased Alli TODAY at Walgreens in FL.  Apparently they started selling it last night.  I'm 32 and my husband and I are getting ready to start trying for kids, so I really don't want to start off a pregnancy overweight!

    Re: Anyone feel my pain???

Hi everyone...I am 38 yrs old from ME and am a size 18.  I jumped from a 10-18 in less then 2 years.  I just lost my father to diabetes 2 months ago and he was extremely obese.  I have been waiting for something like this to come out.  Something to work with me not against me.  I have tried many diets in the past and am really excited about this.  I only started it today and I have to say, I DO NOT plan on having any "treatment effects" if something can deter me from eating more than 15g of fat per meal this is it.

    Good luck everybody!!!!

    Re: Anyone feel my pain???

Bump . . . This thread is worth bumping to the front for all of the new users out there now.  We all need encouragement and I think this thread shows that many of us are in the same proverbial boat.
