    Re: Eating Out

Also,  you may try going to your favorite restaurants websites.  This is what I did and I was able to get the nutrition guide for about six different restaurants that my family likes.  This really helps so that when you arrive you already have a good idea of what you are going to eat.  I was faced with a situation this weekend where I was unaware that my husbands boss would be inviting us to dineout at a restaurant that we had never been to.  I was a little nervous at first and told my husband five minutes before we were due inside that i HAD to get my book inside of our vehicle.  I wasnt able to do that but luckily I stuck to the famous grilled chicken and steamed veggies.  But check those websites out..everyone even mcdonalds is trying to be more health conscious and they are offering these guides..Good luck in ALLI

    Re: Eating Out

there are some really good books at Barnes & Noble that have fat and calorie count listed for restaurant foods - they really help.  Also, if you are near an Applebee's they have excellent options in the Weight Watchers section.  Plus you can always pack fuits and things for snacks!

Hope this helps & good luck.

    Re: Eating Out

I'm kind of in the same boat.  I've been doing two things that have worked so far...

    • Read the material to recognize what foods might be trouble
    • A number of restaurants have websites that list in detail the nutrition content of everything on their menu, so even at McDonald's you can find something that's ok, it just takes some planning up front.
We'll see how the week goes, this worked ok over the weekend.

    Re: Eating Out

It might be easy for me since eating beef or pork is rare for me.
