    Re: Weight Watchers

    lifesavor4u:

I have been doing WW and alli for about 6 weeks (roughly).  It has helped me maintain weight loss from week to week.  Also, it helped with harder times to eat well (like vacation).  I just registered a few weeks ago with myalli though, so this is my first time on these boards.  I think doing ww with alli is good b/c ww really works to teach you to make better choices and maintain, and alli helps you get there...

BTW, I'm going to Canada in two weeks.  Does anyone know what I should do regarding take Alli with me across the boarder?  I haven't been out of the country since 1998!

Welcome to the Alli Program!  I'm glad you're doing well and using the message boards.  You'll find everyone very helpful and supportive.

You should have no problem bringing the capsules with you to Canada.  Liquids are carefully monitored and the limit is items that are 3 ounces or less AND all fit in a 1-quart plastic bag (one bag per person...it's the 3-1-1 rule).

Let us know if you need anything else.

    Re: Weight Watchers

I saw this post a while back and I was thinking I don't need weight watchers to do this, but I see more and more people adding WW to alli.  I have a friend that's so WW and have been asking me to join back.  I think I will rejoin again, it did woek when I was on it.  I really need the help when it comes to eating.  Thanks for the info.

    Re: Weight Watchers

I use http://www.nutritiondata.com/ to get the nutritional information I need.

I just purchased Alli this week, should receive Monday, will start the pills Tuesday.  I have been doing WW for 3 months and have lost 19 pounds.  Can't seem to break 20.

I wanted to make sure that I would benefit from using Alli (high enough fat content) so I have been also figuring fat content and calories for everything I've eaten the last few days.  I know I won't have to monitor that closely all the time, but just to make sure I'm not going to strip my body of necessary fats & make sure I'm getting enough with my WW plan that it will benefit me to take Alli.  Anyway, dead on.  I'm at 23 points but with my extra 5 per day (which is how I generally go - I don't like to save my extra points for weekends, it's just counterproductive to making better food habits) I'm right in the right range for daily fat and calories for my weight according to Alli.

    We'll see :D

There's no question that this takes a little adjusting and fine tuning to get the calories and fat correct -- and that's for the alli diet.  When you add another element to it like WW or SF that takes even more calculating.  You'll find, however, that after a week or two you'll get into the swing of things and it becomes second nature.

    Keep up the good work!

You're right, it is becoming second nature, which is what I'm going for.  I broke my plateau - smashed it to pieces, even - lost 7 pounds this week, I know it's because I obsessed about following the plan exactly & journaling everything I ate.  The last couple of days I just did a mental count on fat grams before I ate a meal, so I could figure out what I could safely eat, then wrote it down later, and went back the next day & registered all the calories, fat grams, points, etc. and found I really was staying right in the range.

As I told my husband, the beauty of it all is that if you watch your fat grams, sugar intake and portion sizes, the calories and points seem to be taking care of themselves.

    Thanks :)

    Re: Weight Watchers

Bravo!!  This is great news.  I'm so glad you broke the plateau and got to the place where it's falling into place.  All the preciseness - which can be tedious, I admit - really does pay off.

I'm delighted to hear this, and I'm here if you need anything else
