1 week and 9 lbs gone already!!!

I just started my lowfat diet and watching my calories last Thursday.  I didn't start taking the Alli pills until Monday, which is my day off.  (Just in case I had to deal with any "Alli-oops!".)  So, I've followed the diet for one week and taken the pills for 3 days and have already lost 9 lbs!!!  I understand that this is not the normal rate so I shouldn't expect to lose this much every week, HOWEVER, it is a great motivator!

My first official weigh in is next Thursday, July 12th.  I can't wait to see what the scale will have to say then!!!

It feels so good to be a loser!!!

That is great! Good Luck. I have lost about 5 pounds on Alli. But I stopped taking the pill because I was on vacation and didnt want any accidents..lol. ButI have started up again and starting to workout again today. THAT IS AMAZING. Keep up the good work. You never know you might lose 7 the next week and 5 the following!

    Good Luck Again

Please share what you diet looks like. Like what you have been eating for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just to give me a sense if I am doing things right or not.

Congratulations. That is awesome and gives me hope. :)

Re: 1 week and 9 lbs gone already!!!

Great Job! I have been going for 12 days now. Today was my first weigh in on the plan and I have not lost anything. bummer. While I have stuck with 1500 cals and no more than 15 grams of fat per meal, I am a little disappointed to say the least. I write everything down, and have had one minor day of gas and oily stuff, but that was due to a little too much rock cornish hen, I think (no skin tho!) I have learned that writing down what I eat every meal really shows how many calories and fat I am consuming. I hope things change soon for me, because any loss is a boost to keep you going! I'd like to know what I am doing wrong as well deelady! Have a great alli day all!! Leigh

Re: 1 week and 9 lbs gone already!!!

WOO HOO!! Congrats to you! That is awesome. I hope you are able to lose more weight than the average person. My weigh in day is Monday so we will see how I've done. It's interesting to see that people are losing none or small amounts also. I'd be interested in what you are eating also.

I just have coffee for breakfast, then when I'm hungry I eat 3/4 cup of frosted mini wheats. I usually have a snack of some veggies and dip or celery and peanut butter. For lunch I eat a small salad and some grilled veggies from our cafe at work. Then for dinner I do the best I can do. I need to make up menus and go shopping so I have food on hand. I have purchased ginger snaps for my sweet tooth, frozen juice bars for a desert or a reward when I've done really well with my eating for the day.

Many congrats disneygirl1276 - way to be a loser!  My check-in days are also Thursdays so I'll be looking out for your continued success.  This was my first week, and as of this morning, I was down 5 pounds, from 155 to 150.  I think that's the first time in my adult life that I've managed to survive a holiday without a weight gain!

Wow that is really great.  I have been on the plan for two weeks and have not lost any weight and am getting discouraged.  What have you been eating?  Did you excercise everyday?

Re: 1 week and 9 lbs gone already!!!

That's pretty good.  I have been on alli since June 22 & I haven't lost anything.  I wish you would share your menu & hopefully that will get me on the right track.  I also go to the gym. Somehow I feel like I just got bloated since I started alli. Any suggestions?

Re: 1 week and 9 lbs gone already!!!

Is it true that the more weight you have to lose, the faster it comes off in the beginning?  I know weight and sizes are just numbers, but when you share those, it helps those of us with similar numbers relate.  With that said, I'm wondering what your total goal for loss is.  If it's like 20 pounds and you lost 9 in the first week, I WANT YOUR MENU!!!!

I have 65 pounds to lose, but I've been working on my own before alli. I lost 20 on my own over a long period of time and not being serious. I'm hoping to see something like you, but we'll see. I will not be disappointed! I believe in keeping expectations low. My favorite quote is:

Happy is he who expects nothing: He shall not be disappointed!

Congrats all, to your success and determination!

Re: 1 week and 9 lbs gone already!!!

Kidzkatz is right. Someone that has 100lbs to lose, will see results faster than say someone that has 20 lbs to lose. The person with 100lbs to lose, will need to eat so many calories in a given day to mantain that. As soon as they start this plan, they will drop weight quickly because they are not eating that much anymore. Her body will adapt to this and then she will stop losing and then hit a plateau where she will have to change things up to pass that.

For you guys that are not losing anything, I bet its because you dont have that much to lose. So therefore you will need to exercise more to really shock your body into losing it.

Re: 1 week and 9 lbs gone already!!!

Congrats! I too lost 7 lbs the first week.I didn't exercie because of an injury however I'm hoping to add it in next week to stay on track.

As much as I believe the weight loss is ins direct realtion to how much you have to lose I also have seen many people (myself included) who have lot's to lose and lose nothing at all. So obviously you're doing something right!

    Good for You!
