Pancakes with berries & syrup for breakfast...yum!

If you are looking for something yummie in the morning try Kelloggs Nutri-Grain pancakes, unsweetened frozen mixed berries and sugar-free syrup(Mrs Butterworths is great).  Defrost a serving of fruit (best in a collander with hot water running over it).  Top your whole wheat pancakes with the thawed fruit and a serving of sugar-free syrup ... you will feel like you are cheating ... but, check this out ...

    NUTRI GRAIN PANCAKES :  240 cal / 7g fat / 3g fiber (3 pancakes = 1 serving)

    SYRUP : 35 cal / 0g fat / 0g fiber (1/4c serving)

    UNSWEETENED FROZEN BERRIES : 70 cal / 0.5g fat / 6g fiber (1c serving)

    Very good!

    Lisa/Tx.

Speaking of pancakes...the other day I went to breakfast at Denny's and I was so jealous that everyone else got to stuff their faces and I had to eat the "Fit Fare". Well...I got the "Slim Slam" and it was great! Ham, scrambled eggbeaters and two pancakes with awesome cinammon apple topping. Their website says it's only 9 grams of fat. I believe it because I took my pill and had absolutely no TEs.

That sounds good.  I've made whole wheat pancakes & put some banana slices in and few teaspoons of light applesauce and sprinkled with cinnamon. Tastes just like banana bread......very good!

Yes!  those waffles are great!  Also IHOP has a veggie omelet that is wonderful, and fits right into our meal plan!

I make pancakes at home using a South Beach recipe Oatmeal pancakes:

     1/2 c old fashioned oatmeal

1/4 c low fat cottage cheese

    4 egg whites

    1 tsp vanilla extract

    1/4 tsp nutmeg

    1/4 tsp cinnamon

process all ingredients in a blender until smooth, spray a nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add the batter and cook over med heat until both sides are lightly brown, I spray them with "I cant believe its not butter spray" and use sugar free syrup. They are thin and more like a crepe but my hubs and I really like them.
