    Re: Chickening out.

    Debbie,

Like Nike say's "JUST DO IT !!!!  You will be so glad you did. It has been life changing to me. The first diet where I get results fast! I could not ask for anything more. You will too if you follow the eating plan by watching your fat.You will be fine. But please know if you eat the things that got you over-weight you will have TE's. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!  PLease post your first weeks weight lost!! You will be so happy!  I lost 8lbs the first week...I cheated and looked at the scale today and I'm down a total of 11 lbs. My weigh in day is Monday.

    Re: Chickening out.

Lynn,  me too!!  I lost 8 pounds my first week!!!  I've never done that the first week of any diet I've ever been on, and I'm 43 years old!  Deb, I hope you are encouraged by all you read, because this little pill does work!  I am glad that you are still losing Lynn, because I hope that I can keep losing at a decent clip (2-3 lbs a week would thrill me).  Normally I have a very hard time dieting in the summer because of all the cookouts, parties, and concession stand food I'm surrounded by, but, it's been a breeze for the first 9 days.

Good luck to all of us!!

    Re: Chickening out.

I started on Monday, just like you I read the post, seen what happened to others and then thought I bought this, give it a try, everyone is different.  I have not had any thing bad happen, I did change my diet starting 3 days before to a low calorie, lower fat diet.  I started writing everything down that I ate 3 days before starting the low calorie/low fat and was ashamed of myself as to how much I ate.

I went to my DR yesterday and took the medicine with me.  She said that she did not see anything wrong with it unless you ate too much fat and then you might have a problem and she did tell me that I would be able to tell, that I should feel gassy or bloated and that would be a sign that I gad to much fat, so I have been really careful today.  I did eat some almonds earlier and then felt a little bloated, looked at the fat content and for 1.5 oz it has 24 grams of fat.  I was floored, as I love almonds and eat those as a snack almost every day.

Well I will just keep rambling, but all I can say is to just jump in and give it a try along with me and we will just have to see what happens.  Best of Luck.

    Re: Chickening out.

    Hey Debbie -

Are you hanging in there?  Just checking...

So far, so good with me.  My hubby thinks the low fat diet is great - and our teenage twin daughters are being equally supportive.

No TEs, lots of fruits and veggies.  Almost too much to eat!

    Re: Chickening out.

    Hi Debbie,

Glad to hear that I am not the only one chickening out.  I bought the pills a month ago and have only taken one.  I am good about working out.  I run in the morning and unfortunately around dinner time is my worst time for eating.  I snack and then eat a big dinner.  I am worried that I will be out for a run and have a TE and no where to go. I run in subdivisions so there is no woods to just duck into and I would be too embarrased to ring someone's doorbell to use their bathroom or worse not be able to stop it and be far from home and have an accident.  Anyone had a TE, how long does it take for them to kick in?

    Re: Chickening out.

When I first got my starter pack and read all of the brochures, I "chickened out" for 2 days because I most feared the "treatment effects."  When I started, it was no big deal.  I did have 1 episode of treatment effects (and I've been on it for almost 4 weeks), but it happened when I was actually in the bathroom and not in a public place.  I haven't had any problems not being able to make it to the bathroom.

    Re: Chickening out.

I did a little chickening out at first, I took a few days to get my nerve, bought some adult disposable diapers (just in case i didn't want to have a TE at work)  reminded myself that i wanted to lose weight and the pills were not cheep. Started slow took one pill for lunch and not for dinner the next day took one for lunch and dinner. I noticed that if I took the pill I made no excuses I stuck to the diet. so far I have lost 4lbs not bad. You can do it debbie take it slow be careful. the big book is around $19.00 I got it for  $14.00 at the grocery store.

                                    good luck debbie

    Re: Chickening out.

I'm in the same boat!  Mine have been sitting under the bathroom sink since I got them back in June!  I keep saying to myself "okay I'm going to start tomorrow".  Then tomorrow comes and I put if off again because I haven't eaten properly the day before and don't want to risk having TE at work.  I've gone to the store and bought a ton of healthy foods.  I just haven't jumped in yet with both feet.

I'm a 39 yo female and need to lose about 30 lbs!  I know I can do this - I don't mind eating low fat, I love all veggies, fruit etc., I already exercise at least 3 times a week for 45 minutes.  I think the thing that is holding me back is on the weekends my husband likes to go out to eat and I have a hard time resisting ordering something very fattening.  During the week, I'm okay - its the weekends that kill me.  The other problem I have is I tend to skip meals during the day and then I'm so hungry when I get home that I tend to eat anything.

I've come to this site and read the encouraging posts.  I love all the tips and suggestions.  I know I can do this, I just need to start and quit procrastinating.

    Thanks for listening!
