Re: Any 20 somethings starting Alli?

Hey!  I am a 25 year old in Germany (temporarily).  I am 5'2" and 207 lbs.  I would be glad to supporrt you in your weight loss cause I need the support too.  I won't be able to start my pills until I get to the states, which will be within the next 30 days, but I will be on the diet plan until I can intergrate the pills in.  My goal is to get down to 165 lbs.  I don't want to be too small cause I want to still look healthy cause When I lose too much I look sickly.  My biggest was 265 but I was pregnant with my first baby.  Before Him I was 215 so I've always been in the 200's How much would you like to lose?

Re: Any 20 somethings starting Alli?

Hi!  I am Amber from Indianapolis.  I am 29, 5'2" and weigh 208.  I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old.  I am hoping to get back into pre-baby shape.  I never lost the weight from my first baby, and then I added more on with my second.  I am just starting the pills, and I am a little nervous about the treatment effects.  But I am ready to try!  I don't have a lot of time to cook, I live on frozen dinners much of the time, but I am hopeful that I can start walking more and keeping within the fat intake limits.  Wish me luck!

Re: Any 20 somethings starting Alli?

Hey msubabe, Chirpy14, Danielle, and bhhbam:

I'm adopting all of you.  Hopefully at least one or two of you will adopt me as well.  ;) If anyone else wants to be buddied with me too, just let me know. I sit in a cubicle all day at work so I will be diligent in responding to posts!  ;)

I'm 22, 246.8 pounds (started 4 days ago and lost 1.2 already). I just got back onto the dating scene after being with someone for over three years.  Fortunately or unfortunately it was a very "comfortable" relationship and I gained almost 40 pounds while being with him. I have to say that it's rough being a big girl and back on the dating scene.

I'm not sure if any of you had hesitated to start the pills because of treatment effect worries, I haven't experienced any.  I'm being really careful about it because I'm a social person and I don't want an "Alli-oops" in front of everyone! I have to admit that it isn't easy at all, my apartmentmate is like 6'0" and 135 pounds and is always asking me if I want to go get Chinese food. (My worst enemy!) So far so good though, I did have to go to bed early one night (10:30 is early for me) to avoid eating all sorts of bad things though.

Nighttimes are the worst for me, how are you guys getting through it?

Hope to hear from you soon!

    Joanna

    Start: 248 lbs

    Current: 246.8 lbs

    Lost: 1.2 lbs

    Day 4!

Re: Any 20 somethings starting Alli?

I am 24, 5'5" 225.  I had always kept my weight down by not eating.  Even after I had my son (he's 6) I managed to drop all of the weight.  But I am done with all that and am trying to lose the weight I've gained in the last 2 years in a more sensible way.  I would love to stop the yo-yo cycle I've had going on since jr high.   Anyone else with extreme weight flux?

    Thanks for ur support!!!!!

bhhba_buddha thank you for ur support!!!!  it means a lot to know that someone my age is going through the same deal. I want to tell you that after reading your enteries, I know in a way what you are going through. I wasn't fat all my life! I was a lil cutie when I was a lil girl! When I was in 2nd grade, I lost my father unexpectedly. It was really difficult for me to go through while trying to help make the rest of my family feel better. Peolpe had felt bad for me being so young, so to make me feel better they fed me. From that point I became an emotional eater which has become a nightmare in my life. The difficult part was when I was in high school I had extremely low self esteem because I was over weight. Not one, but 2 of my very close friends had died unexpectedly as well. One from suicide, and one from a drunk driver. I completely shut down and my eating turned into binging to make me feel better. I didnt know how else to cope w/ it!

I understand what it is life for food to control you! Right now, we are making the decision to change the way that we have been eating for several years! I'm sorry to hear about the loses recently in your life, but there is a time when we all have to move on and make the right choices to become healthy before there are risks for us involved.

So lets take this day by day! You can do it! When did you start your pills? How are you feeling? Here... I'm cleansing.. and I will start my pills on Friday. I'm lookin forward to it! Today was a perfect day in my eyes! I would not change one thing about what I did today! I  ate very well following all the lil laws and I had a great workout! I made good choices!

Alright... thats it for now.. I look forward to hearing back from you!:)

    -Nina from Minnesota!

Re: Any 20 somethings starting Alli?

Hi everyone!  My name is Leann, I'm 24 years old and 5'4" tall and weigh about 216 lbs.  Back in high school I could wear a size 6 and now after having 3 kids (ages 5, 2, and 10 months) I wear a size 20.  I know I'll never be as skinny as I was in high school but I would like to get down to 150 or so.  I have a wonderfully supportive husband but it's nice to know there are women my age that are feeling the same way I do.  I will be starting my alli on Friday, wish me luck!

Re: Any 20 somethings starting Alli?

I am also 27 and started taking the pills on Tuesday. I can already feel a difference in my body. Not sure if it's the pills working or just the self determination to keep the weight off this time. It's always great to have a support system! I have tried weight watchers and other fad diets in the past with great results but have always managed to gain the weight back. I'm determined this time will be different! Good luck and you can always turn to us for support...unlike or skinny friends( and in my case older sister) we actually understand where you are coming from!

Re: Any 20 somethings starting Alli?

Hello everyone, I'm Rachele. I'm 22 years old, 5'4 and weigh 184. It's nice to see such good outlooks from people our age. I'm very excited for Alli, I started this morning & am nervous about the effects but.. pain is beauty. I am an emotional eater, three years ago my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer & we basically have lived out of the hospital & on the junk they call food. Overall, I've gained 40 pounds in 4 years. My dad passed away 21 days ago, I've decided that with all the changes that are happening in my life.. one more can't hurt (right?). I started exercising as soon as my dad was brought home in hospice (to keep my mind off things), Alli is kind of a small miracle that happened in the days to follow. I didn't have the mind set before, and now I'm so inspired by my dad's fight, I know I can do anything! Good Luck everyone, my prayers are with you!
