Re: 50+years old and 50+lbs to lose

He keliris, Welcome to the over 50 bunch.  I am 53 with 2 grown kids also.  A 34 year old son, who has an 11 year old son of his own.  And a 32 year old daughter, no kids yet.  You are really doing good with alli, keep up the good work.  I have had to much going on since starting it, lots of out of state company, camping trips (I broke my arm on one of them) and mini trips.  Need to get focused again, I am down 6 lbs, so that is much better than gaining.  Good luck and keep us updated.    Mydayishere (Deb)

Re: 50+years old and 50+lbs to lose

    Hello:

I am 58 and had 75 lbs to lose when I began.  I began Alli 7-24 and have lost 20 lbs to date.  My goal weight is 150.  Four years ago I lost weight and got down to 150 and really liked the way I looked and I am shooting for that again.

I am married and live in Virginia.  My husband is on the diet also, (not taking Alli) so that makes it alot easier to prepare my meals.  He is really determined to lose his weight also.  He currently weighs 340 (down from 370) his goal is 240.

It's sort of funny.  Get the weight off and you'll feel like you are 25 years old with no wrinkles.

I'm going to my 40th class reunion September 14 and 15th.  I couldn't get into my size 20 jeans.  Today, I actually got into some size 18 jeans I had grown out of.  I am feeling really great about my weight loss.

I would love to have a buddy.  I have written back to several but if they answer, I don't know how to find them.

Hope to hear back from you.

Cheryl...not skinny but working on it.

Welcome Cheryl,  You are doing great with your weight loss, congrats.  You will be ready for your  class reunion.  Any loss at all makes us feel so much better.  Maybe you will be able to get into a 16 by reunion time.  Any way you look at it you are adding years to your life with each pound you lose.  Good luck and keep up the good work.    Deb

Re: 50+years old and 50+lbs to lose

Hi 50+ group. I've been a bad girl, not taking the Alli and gaining a few back. I'm having so much trouble with the menopause thing and just let myself get side tracked & depressed. I turned 55 yesterday and decided I have got to get back to taking Alli because it was working & I felt so much better when I was being "good".

Hope everyone is doing well & I'm glad to see some new people in the 50+ group!!

    How's the recovery going Deb?

I was 252 when I started and that was 2 months ago...so...I'm pretty happy with my results..I think a littlle slip up is good once in a while cause it gets you all reved up and you work harder cause you wanna lose what you gained and some..lol...Good luck everyone.

Hi Linda, sounds like you are in the same boat with me.  Menopause is kicking my but.  We can get back on track and make this thing work.  Do you watch The Biggest Loser?  A 62 ear old man lost 31lbs. in one week.  That is unreal, men are so lucky they don't have to go thru all the changes in life that we do.....Well, here's to us older girls and getting back our healthy bodies.

Recovery is very slow, can't wait until I can fix the back of my hair again.  I'm still far from being able to reach back there, but in time I will.

Keep picking yourself up , Deb

OK, where is all the 50/50 group,  hope everybody is still hanging in there and losing the pounds or at least holding steady.  That is what I am doing.  I have lost and  kept off 5lbs now since I went on it the day it came on the market.  So that is better than gaining.
