Re: Weight Watchers and MyAlli -

It is great to see so many WW and Alli users here.  I lost 60+ pounds with WW in 1999, kept it off until kids and now I weigh 225.  I have bounced around for almost two years now and am ready to be back where I was when I married!!  I bought MyAlli on Saturday and started it today.  I think the "treatment effects" are a great incentive to stay OP!

If you can, you really should attend the meetings.  It really helps along with the journaling, plenty of water, and exercise.

Re: Weight Watchers and MyAlli -

I was a WW member not too long ago, but it didnt work well for me. I got tired of counting and CORE was too limited. I do see a lot of resemblence with Alli and WW though. For example, the journal and the fat and cal counter (all in the starter packet). If you've taken Orlistat before why Alli? Did it not work before?

Re: Weight Watchers and MyAlli -

I've been on WW since 12/03.  I've lost 65 pounds and have another 40 to go.  I've been 'stuck' the last year gaining and losing the same 5 pounds over and over again.  I'm now feeling 'fat' at my new weight and really just need something to 'keep me honest'.  I was tracking for the past couple of days and I never even reached 15g in any meal.  So I'm assuming that until I go overboard that I won't experience side effects.  I've been on 3 days now and nothing yet.    Trust me, I'm not knocking the 'no effects' deal at all.  I needed something that was going to help me not go overboard so easily.  I think the thought of something happening is incentive enough for me to stay on.  But I don't think I would have that incentive w/o actually taking the pill.  Sounds crazy, but I guess I need to pay the money and take the pill to get my self control in check.  Sure I could do it on my own, but will I?  Have I?  Nope.

Like the WW boards will have you believe, I'm not looking for a quick fix and understand the fact that I may gain weight back when stopping the pill.  Um, but I would ALSO gain the weight back if I were to stop the WW program as well.  So what's the difference?!  I'll get my support over here, thank you very much, NOT the WW boards.

    Good luck everybody!

Former Weight Watcher Lifetime Member.  Lost 60 lbs in 2004 now back up to 199 lbs.  Hope to get down to 160.  So far going well not treatment effects and Feeling great!  I am shooting for 27 of the flex points each day and trying not to cheat with fat-free splurges.

    Good Luck!

Hi Jerzdeb, I am not sure if this is going to post this is my 3rd attempt at this. Anyway, my name is Jenn and I also am on WW and Alli. I want to be a part of a group doing both so that I have support. I hope you all get this so I can hear from everyone. Thanks Jenn

Re: Weight Watchers and MyAlli -

I've been on an off WW for longer than I'd like to admit! I just started WW in early May and have lost about 7 lbs (when the scale hit 200 that was my call to action!) I just started Alli last Friday, but had a horrible fat-laden day on Sunday and I've paid for it. I had "treatment effects" yesterday and today! I've learned my lesson! I've been using the WW flex plan, but not going to meetings (I know I'm supposed to lose more weight by going to meetings). I've found my best success in weight loss and maintenance is writing down everything I eat and watching my fruits/vegetables and water intake. I know Alli isn't the "magic bullet" but I really think it will be the catalyst to sticking with my goal and seeing it through. Remember that we didn't get like this is a week or two so it will take time. The best feeling is when you put on a pair of pants that you could barely breathe in and they're loose around the waist -- that makes it all worthwhile! Patty p.s. my individual plan says 1800 calories a day and 19 grams of fat -- I'm assuming that's for the entire day?

Re: Weight Watchers and MyAlli -

I have been doing WW since March 2005.  I hit goal & Lifetime in August of '05 but I have been over my goal weight for 15 months due to menopause setting in.  That really changes your whole metabolism!  I've been struggling so badly and the pounds keep creeping back on.  I've regained almost half of the 42 pounds I originally lost, so I'm giving MyAlli a try.  I will be starting on Saturday.  Until then, I will monitor myself well and cut back on the extra snacking I've been doing that's put me in the trouble I'm in today.  I've been doing Flex all along, but I think I will be switching to the foods on the menus here.  I'm bored with my foods lately, so switching things up might be just the ticket.

Re: Weight Watchers and MyAlli -

    Hi Sandy,

I've been on WW for about 6 months (25# loss) and slacked off a month or so ago when we no longer had a group at work.  I'm getting "recommitted" this week -- started Alli on Sunday night.  I'm drinking my 8 glasses of water with no ill affects -- I attribute it to also eating a lot of fiber.  I do the FlexPlan, but really do try to get my veggies and fruits in every day.  Bread is one of my downfalls (along with ice cream which is now really a no-no!), but I have been using the Arnold's Double Fiber bread or the Western Bagel Alternative Bagels which have 7 grams of fiber per bagel (these are available at Publix here in Georgia).  I really think the fiber helps eliminate treatment effects and lets you continue your water intake (or has seemed to be the case thus far).

    Good luck!

Re: Weight Watchers and MyAlli -

Well this is Day 3 for me and not a treatment effect in sight.  Not that I'm complaining mind you!.  But I also realized that I don't eat 15mg of fat in any one meal; or at least I haven't since recommitting myself to following the plan religiously.   So I can only assume that if I go hog wild I'll have those effects.  I think just knowing what can happen will keep me honest for a while.

Am I correct in assuming that some of the fat calories will not be absorbed by taking Alli even though I'm doing less than 15mg per meal?  Can anyone verify that?

Re: Weight Watchers and MyAlli -

    HELLO,

MY NAME IS RHONDA. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE CORE IS? I'M STARTING WW NEXT TUESDAY I MISSED THE MEETING TONITE DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE. I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO JOIN WW. I AM GOING TO JOIN TOMORROW ON LINE SO WHEN I GO NEXT WEEK TO THE MEETING I'LL BE A LITTLE PREPARED. I'VE BEEN ON THE ALLI PLAN NOW FOR 3 MONTHS NOW AND I LOSS 8 POUNDS. I WOULD OF LOSS MORE BUT I CUT BACK ON MY EXERICES.THE ONLY THING I DO ON A REGULAR BASES IS MY AB LOUNGER BECAUSE I AM THICK AROUND THE MIDDLE. IT SEEMS TO BE THE HARDEST PLACE TO LOSE THE WEIGHT. AND THE THIGHS TOO. I STARTED OUT AT 207 POUNDS NOW I'M DOWN TO 198 POUNDS.EVERY TIME I TRY ON A PAIR OF PANTS IN MY CLOSET THEY NOW GO ON WHICH THEY DID NOT BEFORE BUT I CAN NOT FASTEN THEM. SO TO ME THAT IS A BIG ACHEVEMENT FOR ME. I'M SO PROUD OF MY SELF. BUT I DONT WANT TO DO THIS ALONE. SO LETS ALL PITCH IN TOGETHER AND HELP EACH OTHER LOSE THE POUNDS. BECAUSE I WOULD LIKE TO HELP AND BE HELPED. ANY TAKERS.
