Re: Has anyone really done the math???????

I started weight watchers and followed my points value for three days before starting Alli. I haven't had any of the 'treatment effects" and I feel great. Dieting is never easy, I lost 20lbs on ww last summer but the minute I started skipping meetings I started slipping and gained all back. Now I am focused and have made the promise to myself that "I" am important enough to spend this time on myself! I went thru my cabinets and made one of them mine. I have put all my ww breakfast cereals, canned foods, and snacks in it , i even measured out all my snacks into snack size ziploc bags and wrote the points on them. The canned goods too. This way it takes less time to fix my lunch in the morning and if i don't have time to journal right then i can do it at work. I started a note book where i have divided up the different foods i like and their point values, for quicker reference. I work full time, one week i work two days from 7am to 7:30pm,  one day 7am to 5:30pm, one 12pm to 5:30pm, and one 8am to 1pm, the next week i work 8am to 5:30pm, 7am to 7:30pm and two 7am to 5:30pm, I have 5 kids still living at home and if I can loose one extra pound a week with whatever I loose at ww then I am all for it!!!

You need to chill on your opinion, and with that type of attitude you probably will never loose weight!!! Don't buy it if u choose, but I think we all can make our OWN decision with our OWN money, and our OWN weight to loose.

Re: Has anyone really done the math???????

alli is not a miracle pill. alli is for the committed consumer who is ready to make a lifestyle change.  alli can help you achieve gradual and healthy weight loss.

As a health professional, I interact with patients who start jumping up and down when they realized they took off five pounds instead of three pounds.  I applaud the alli program for stressing the importance of a reduced calorie, low fat diet in conjunction with a weight-loss medicine proven to be safe and effective.  This lines up with research that shows even modest, gradual weight loss provides significant health benefits.  alli is your reward for losing weight!  For example, instead of losing 10 pounds with diet alone, you can lose 15 pounds with the alli program.  That is such a powerful motivator!  Every pound counts!

    Let the count down begin!

Re: Has anyone really done the math???????

    Excellent post, Sylvia.

To OP, if alli doesn't work for folks, do you really believe they are going to continue to pay for it month after month.  $$ are important to the average folk, and if they feel they didn't get the results they wanted after the first month or two, I doubt they will continue to pay the money required to get the drug.  Also, if they decide to drink the 250 calorie cokes, one after another, they won't get the maximum benefit -- again, they won't continue to fork out the $$.  Lastly, I bet many of the people won't start an exercise program.  If not, they won't see the results they want and they'll stop dropping $$ on the counter for the drug.  Many folks here can't swim energetically, jump rope or take a brisk walk (15minute mile).  They're lucky if they can stroll.  If alli helps them initially, maybe they'll want to put forth the effort to exercise.  I have not seen where alli is falsely leading the public.  Why not give them the benefit of the doubt until they are proven wrong (if at all)?

Re: Has anyone really done the math???????

I've done the math.... 10 years of being overweight plus a million fun things I COULD have done with my son if I were healthier divided by 50$/month times each pound I lose = priceless

Simply having a diet has never worked for me- and has for the weight loss programs-  I can't afford those, Alli has given me more support than dieting alone & I JUST started!  So, the math works for me... wish me luck (& the strength to get through a few BBQs this summer :) )

    I have done the math=

10 years of being overwieght  plus all the fun thing I COULD have done with my son if I were healthier minus 50$ a month divided by each pound I lose times the daily support

     = PRICELESS

I dont see how anyone taking Alli properly could not be aware of the fact its not a miracle cure.  Its all over the news!  I like the support.  I like knowing Im not going thru this alone.  I have tried to diet alone- it just doenst work for me.  I have tried the group wieght loss plans, but dont see how eating frozen food is going to change my life- besides, I followed N/S to the letter & gained 4 pounds the first week!!!!

Im glad you had a negative post- makes me realize how glad I am to be working to improve myself & for choosing Alli to help me.

Re: Has anyone really done the math???????

If for you the added exercise, cutting out a Coke, or any of the other things you mentioned worked you wouldn't have purchased the pill.

If you read ALL of theiir literature and the questions in the Are You Ready? section, you will find that they always say with hard work and committment.  This isn't a miracle cure to being overweight.  It's a tool to help you keep on track.  Be honest, most folks would rather eat less fat than suffer the "treatment effects".

I have a friend who used the plan when it was perscription and lost 60 pounds.  Took a lot of committment. But she did it!  And I will too!

If you don't want to follow the plan, find a friend who wants to try it and let them have your bottle.

Re: Has anyone really done the math???????

Ok, so I am not negative or a believer yet... I bought the starter pack as well as a refill and plan on using it for at least 2 months- Yes I did the math and was a little concerned by the 5 pound loss for every 10 pound loss- It does NOT add up?? I was also a little disheartened that the diet plan was so low cal- in my case on 1400 calories a day and exercise- Of course we all know we will lose weight on that even without Alli! So were is the RN that is from the drug company that has replied to so many posts?? Can you help us out here? How do we get the 2.5 extra pounds configured for every 5 pounds we lose with the diet and exercise? Is there some extra burning power from the 100 calories of less fat?? Please explain so we can clarify how Alli is really effecting our bodies and put to rest any confusion once and for all!! And girls/ladies let's support everyone's view and try not to be judgemental here, sometimes it takes the extreme views to get the facts on the table and I am all for getting the facts :) P.S. no poopy pants yet today is day 3 LOL!
