    TREATMENT EFFECTS

TE = UGH.  ORANGE USED TO BE MY FAVORITE COLOR.

I HAVE BEEN STICKING TO UNDER 16 GRAMS OF FAT, YET STILL EXPERIENCING THE UGLY -- AND I MEAN UGLY -- TREATMENT EFFECTS.  THE STAINS ARE HORRIBLE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE.  CLOTHING, SHEETS -- ANYTHING WITH COLOR - IS PERMANENTLY RUINED.  NOTHING -- AND I MEAN NOTHING -- CAN REMOVE THE TE STAINS.

     ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCE THIS?

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

Oh yeah.  Luckily I've only ruined one pair of beige capris...and they'd already gotten stained the same day when I sat in something at Disneyland...and had them during the day when I could be near restrooms.  I've noticed the effects don't happen every day, but even sometimes when I've been extra careful, and it usually takes 2-3 days for them to show up.  Hopefully you'll get a response from one of the professionals on the boards.  Good luck!

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

I have had one TE that got on my clothes.  I used Dawn dishwashing detergent and rubbed it on stain and it removed it totally.  Most TE are when I go to bathroom, so that is ok.  I had the Alli opps because of two ribs I ate.  Never do that again.

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

BOY OH BOY ARE YOU RIGHT ON TARGET ABOUT TE'S THE FIRST ONE I GOT SCARED THE CRAP (no pun intended) OUT OF ME I WAS ON THE ROAD GOT OUT OF MY CAR AND GOT THE LOVLEY SURPRISE.  THANK GOODNESS I WAS WEARING BLACK PANTS.

BUT I DO COSIGN THE TREATMENT EFFECTS DOES RUIN EVERYTHING IT COMES INTO CONTACT WITH.  BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU EAT AND STAY WITHIN YOU FAT LIMITS IS ALL I CAN SAY.

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

I had some on my underwear and used some cold water and soap.... let it soak in the sink for awhile and scrubbed it up. It cleaned up pretty well. It didn't seem to be any worse than a period stain. I've also had good luck with the new spray and wash that has some oxy clean in it. Good luck.

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

They are scary!  As I said, luckily I've only had the one "accident."  Like an idiot I started a week before my birthday/anniversary/9-day vacation.  It wasn't too bad, except Friday I think I went to the bathroom about 15 times.  No joke.  Now that I'm back home and have more control over my life, I think it'll be easier.

Good luck to us all!  ;o)

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

I'm sooo sorry that you are experiencing these effects.  I wish you could send part of it to me.

I have always had the reverse problem.  I take my 3 allis a day, plus a stool softener, and still no treatment effects.  Not that I relly want them like you have them, but some relief would be a good thing.    ( I have lost 6 pounds though)  Good Luck with your alli plan.

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

I had my first TE today.  Luckily I was at home and it finished before I left.  But I was still nervous about it all day and was in the bathroom quite a bit.  Luckily I didn't stain anything.  That will teach me not to have anymore cookies!

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

I ate low-fat for a week before starting and have stayed under my alloted 19g of fat per meal.  I eat whole grains, lean protein, fruits, veggies and low-fat desserts, small-serving (e.g. weight watchers cakes, ice cream, thin crisps, etc.) if I want something sweet.  I try to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day and take Alli at my 3 main meals.  I'm too afraid to get too close to 19.  So far, no serious treatment effects.  If anything, my bowels are more regular.  Maybe some whole grains would help.

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

This might sound weird, but I keep a spritz bottle of hydrogen peroxide in my bathroom for any unfortunate monthly leaks... it makes the blood disappear almost instantly.  Then you can throw your underwear in the laundry basket and they come out brand new again after you wash them.  Maybe this will help with your TE stain.  I wouldn't use it on clothes you don't want to lighten though...like dark colors.  It could lift the color as well, just like your hair!  BTW - I've taken alli since Saturday and lost 5 pounds.  Most likely water weight, but the diet plan is fabulous.  I could live on it for the rest of my life. (maybe not the pills, but the plan is very sensible.)

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

I had an Arbys melt sandwich on Sunday. Other than that I have been within my limits. I have been having treatment effects here and there yesterday and some today. Luckily I have been able to make it into the bathroom. I only had a tiny amount on my underwear once. I am definitely not taking any more chances like that anymore.

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

Lol, I even had a stain on the inside of the toilet bowl.

I went out to lunch on the second day with my MIL and SIL adn had a few drinks...forgot and ordered prime rib. I only ate half! That's the good news. Well, I gues the other good news is I had on a panty liner and so I didn't ruin my clothes.

I think I'll wear them all the time after reading this thread!

    Re: TREATMENT EFFECTS

I've been extremely lucky and have had only one 'oops' - at home, before my morning shower, LOL, and not enough to discourage me. I also knew *exactly* what caused it and will avoid that in the future!

Dawn dishsoap took out the stain, but I washed it immediately.

I had heard the horror stories and have been doing a pretty good job of keeping those stories in mind whenever a piece of cheesecake calls my name. If nothing else, the threat of TEs has kept me aware of what I am eating!
