Nacho, we all have trouble or we wouldnt be here, keep telling yourself I am worth it. Take one day at a time. If you have a bad day, just start fresh the next day.

Re: Tired of all the whiners in here!!!

I just read through all four pages of comments and I can say that it was really interesting to hear different people reacting...and it dawned on me that regardless of how different people can be in America losing weight seems to be at a priority for so many.  There are, of course, the people out there that take Alli thinking they won't really have to do anything else, and then there are the people who are more active and probably putting more effort into it and really doing all the steps.  In my past I've lost and gained weight so many times.  I have used all the diet pills.  Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, but truthfully, the only way I was able to sustain any type of weight loss was to either be more active or to cut down on calories.

Let's face it....people are going to try every new diet pill and it will work to varying degrees and I think it's great that people are expressing their feelings.  I started this pill a month ago and thought this time around I wasn't going to do anything extra -- this time I wasn't going to go running or even change my diet.  Of course that was a big mistake and I feel one of the best parts of Alli is that it forces you to change your eating habits.  I had no choice if I wanted to stay on it -- I just couldn't eat junky food because I'd be sick from it, but that slowly convinced me that if I am going to spend the big bucks on this pill I better adjust my eating.  And I have...slowly.

So, to all the people "whining" out there I would say it's ok to whine as long as you understand why taking this drug can be so uncomfortable.  You have to just accept that if you don't want to be uncomfortable you have to put better food into your body.  It's not nearly as exciting as thinking you can take this drug and eat Wendy's every night and still lose weight...but it's a reality that will probably make you a healthier person.

    Good luck everyone!

Re: Tired of all the whiners in here!!!

I loved it!  Thanks to all those who are politely trying to tell the whiners to get real.  It is nice to know I am not the only one tired of reading those type of posts.

Re: Tired of all the whiners in here!!!

I understand a lot of people's frustrations when the scale stops moving. If you're not losing or stopped losing, something needs to change and these boards provide a wealth of information to help you pinpoint where you're going wrong. After reading countless posts, I guarantee you the answer to your problem is probably there. If people are too lazy to read other's suggestions and take their advice, then they're probably not going to do the work it takes to lose weight. This doesn't apply to everyone, mind you. We all need advice, we all need support, we all need to vent...and thats ok! But how many posts do you see from people complaining that they're not losing weight, or have lost little weight, but go on to say 'I'm eating well under my 1600 calories a day' and such.

As for the TE complainers. Well...call me sick...but I find it funny as hell! I've been taking Alli for a few days now and watch every gram of fat that I eat. I haven't had a single problem. My cousin has been taking it for weeks on a low-fat diet, zero problems until she splurged on movie popcorn...but she knew it was coming! Thats the thing. If you read your books, read the site, scan the message boards, you gotta know theres a TE with your name all over it at the bottom of that plate of nachos! I bought Alli for my husband and myself to try. When I brought home the starter kit, I read over the information and placed the literature on the table in front of my husband and suggested he look it over. It's still sitting there. I gave him the Alli website address and showed him where you can sign up and get info...blah blah blah. He hasn't looked at the site. So, while I've been counting calories and monitoring fat intake and taking my pills religiously 3 times a day, he's come home from work a couple times and said 'Where are those pills? I had a really fatty lunch.' Now...he hasn't had a TE yet..yet! But I know it's coming...you know it's coming...we all know it's coming! And when it does, I'm going to be thoroughly amused. When the spasms of laughter finally subside, I think I'll just push the Alli booklets under the bathroom door and tell him 'Just in case you need some reading material in there...'

Alli is a program, not a 'magic pill', people. If you're not losing or you're having TE's, deep down you probably know why...if you don't, read your books and scan the message boards! If you're still going nowhere, then ask for help. The answer could be as simple as adding a few calories or trying a different exercise. It also says in the book that this diet won't benefit you if you're already on a very low fat diet or don't need to lose weight. Just something to consider. Good luck!

Re: Tired of all the whiners in here!!!

I think it's amazing that you post about whiners when you yourself are whining.  No need for negativity, you can pick which post's you open, you don't have to read them all.  If it's not a post you want to read, don't read it.  It's like complaining about a tv show when you have a remote and can change the channel, very redundant.

At first this thread didn't interest me until I was bored and decided to read a few threads I'd sort of glazed over.    Some very good points here.    I do love the idea of shoving the booklets into the bathroom as reading material.

Only one major TE for me and I knew it was coming, just not when.   More careful now and will open my mouth next time hubby wants Pzones!!    He can go alone LOL.
