I found in my grocery store a fat free gratted cheese by Kraft that melts. It's in a different packaging than the typical blue Kraft packaging, it's like a grayish/ white package. It tastes pretty good. Not the usual yuck that comes with f/f cheese.

As a Stay at Home Dad, I get to control my lunch quite easily, but I also choose to do simple and eat PBJ probably 6 days a week. This is fine by me, fills me up, satisfys me, etc. BUT I saw "lean" Hebrew National Salami the other day at the store which got me to thinking/wondering:

Comparing the nutritional information, 2 sandwiches of "natural" peanut butter, low sugar jelly on "light" bread versus 2 sandwiches of "lean" Salami (and yes, I actually weigh my portions):

PBJ: 650 calories, 300 fat calories (32), 600mg sodium, 56g carbs

Salami: 360 calories, 100 fat calories (10g), 1200mg sodium, 34g carbs

I never thought my PBJ was "bad" for me, but can someone offer advice with respect to these 2 options? Is the fat in natural peanut butter "good" fat in any way? Should I revert to the Salami sandwich or at least not feel bad eating it perioidically or semi-regularly? The meat sandwich actually fills me up a bit more and if the numbers are correct, it's only 55% of the calories and 33% of the fat, which is great, yes?

Thoughts greatly appreciated,

Now I'm trying to figure out what to eat so I can start my diet before the pills. I have to have 1800 calories, which seems like a lot to me (I'm used to eating only about 700 cals/day). I also have a target of 19 fat grams/meal. I'm really scared of side effects and was hoping I could eat less cals and less fat to avoid side effects but then im afraid alli wouldn't work. I can add calories but my main concern is getting in that 19 fat. Any suggestions? I've read the books and I know there are recommended menus but I'm kind of a picky eater. I don't like seafood, tuna, any type of lunch meat, etc. I love Special K and chicken, but again that's reduced calories but no fat. How can I get my fat target met? I read something on the boards about a teaspoon of Peanut Butter to meet fat gram targets. Could I do that with each meal to meet my 19 fat gram target? Like if I had 2 waffles and a teaspoon of PB for breakfast?Any suggestions would be appreciated! I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.

p.s. I don't have a ton of money to spend on pre-made meals. I typically can only eat breakfast and dinner at my house. Lunch is killing me. I've been eating out because I don't have time to go home- I just live too far away-and there's no place for me to eat lunch at the office. Someone is always in our breakroom and I hate eating in front of people. I'd rather just wait til dinner to eat.

Vegetarian Lunch

I made vegetarian taco for lunch today & it was great.
I have started to eat subway everyday for lunch. I get a foot long turkey with all the veggies with pepper jack cheese and spicy mustard. no oil vinager, no mayo. I do not eat the chips would that be alright to eat and still lose weight or should i cut to a 6 in and a bad of baked lays.

Thanks.

Spinach Salad

Hello.

God, was that hard not to say well I will just have pizza. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and garlic knots. Does anyone know what the fat grams are in either of these. I figured the salad would be good, but then when I saw garlic knots I couldn't resist.

Lately I have been eating a footlong veggie sub on wheat with cheese lettuce, spinach, tomato, bell pepper, jalapeno, pickle and strip of the spicy mustard. I have been alternating this and salads from Whole Foods but really do like the Subway option as it is fast and inexpensive. Plus, I am not one to easily get tired of anything.

Any thoughts? Suggestions concerning Subway (Besides the obvious- no tuna!)

From You On a Diet:

Take a whole wheat english muffin and smear with olive oil based marinara sauce, top with a veggie burger, tomato, onion, lettuce or spinach, and sauteed mushrooms (sauteed in PAM of course).

There are many flavors of veggie burgers to choose from and I think the less they look like meat, the better it is! The standard hamburger patty we bought for the cookout had 35grams of fat per hamburger but the veggie burgers only had 3g!! Normally, I don't like english muffins but with everything else, I didn't miss a real bun.

I don't really care for the baked chips, but the snack size caramel rice cakes are an okay substitute while everyone else is eating real chips.

I'd love to hear any other suggestions for surviving the endless summer cookouts!!

Cannot find recipes, can someone help?

I'm looking for the pasta primavera, blackened chicken with seasoned spicy brown rice recipes, i searched the site since last night and can't find them.
