I def have my favorite flavors, but tend to pick the ones with "twice the veggies of regular lean cuisines". I then add single serving steamed veggies (in with the frozen veggies, or just portion out a big bag, maybe more if I am really hungry), and usually an ounce or two of feta cheese to add the fat I need per meal. When you mix it all up, it is very filling, and very delicious!!!! Just be sure to keep track of the calories in the veggies you add in!

Single serving packages are amazing, they're a little more expensive, but worth it for me because I have to have things portion controlled, I don't trust myself enough to do it. You could also buy a bigger, family size bag, and portion them into single servings.

Smart ones are also good, as the the healthy choice brand. Lean cuisines are by far the best, tho!

I've lost 10 pounds so far, and Ive used the above variations at leas once every day, love them!!

Re: lean cusines

does thaat give you 15grams of fat that is needed for every meal.

My favorite ones typically have 3-8g of fat, and I'm suppose to be eating 19g per meal. The alli book and post from the professionals say you should try your best to meet your target intake, so it concerns me a bit that so many people strive to find the LCs with only 3-5g of fat? Is that all you eat with it? Do you make up your missing fat with snacks or anything? I've never saw on a LC with over 12g - even the large dinner sizes. So they should technically fit with any plan you're on (12, 15, 19g per meal). They're also like, 6oz of food and don't really sustain me until dinner (4-6 hours) since I only have them for lunches. So I'll usually pair a FiberOne PB & Oats bar, and a serving of my own veggies seasoned with chinese stirfry flavors.

My favorites are probably..

Chicken Philly Flatbread
Deluxe French Bread Pizza
Deluxe Pizza
Beef & Brocolli in Asian Sauce
Asian Style Potstickers
Chicken Pesto Flatbread
Veggie Style Eggrolls

In my expierence, also, I hateeee the Santa Fe Beans & Rice (taste and smells like chemicals), and the Pepporoni French Bread Pizza (I quiet litterally tasted and smelled like vomit to me. I am suspicious that I got a sour one.)

SmartOnes has some delicious desserts, too. Roughly 3-4g of fat and 150-170 cal for a nice sized serving, and they come two in a box. My grocery only has 3 flavors, which is Key Lime Pie, Peanut Butter Cup, and Brownie A La Mode (a bit more cals in this one). I'm not that fond of the key lime pie, but the other two are great. Favorite would have to be the PB cup, and i'll likely only get that one from now one since it has less cals than the brownie.

SmartOnes also has some english muffin sandwiches. Personally, I think they're okay. I have never been able to make one from scratch that taste anything remotely like I want it to for some reason, and I just crave "mcmuffins" at random times. The first bite of this taste a bit..off, but then it's pretty darn good. I cook it in the microwave for how long it says, and then pop it in the toaster oven for 2-3 minutes, because it gets a bit soggy. 6g of fat and 210 cal in one, and they're pretty filling. I'll usually pair with a fiberone bar, again.

Re: lean cusines

how about a nice granola bar or one of those protein bars in the morning for breakfast? they have a vast array to choose from at wal-mart or any other store in the health food section.

my husband and i are going camping soon and i thought one of those clif bars for breakfast would be right nice with some coffee of course. i'll have to check into that. the price is the only thing that might set me back. i need to learn how to make my own for cheaper. i don't work now, somewhat retired and get a little/more that a little from my husband for spending every two weeks. i just have to pick my priorities. my priority right now is my weight and getting healthy and buying all kinds of workout dvd's. this way i won't get bored. love the tae bo ones and leslie sansone and now am getting into anything i can get my paws/claws on for the wii, but they aren't cheap. the tae bo ones are a little over 11.00 at wal-mart. i'm going there next grocery money coming up. hehe.

u all have fun.

I have started geting my snacks ready and portioned out in the fridge. My husband used to snack on a big glass of milk and some sort of cake, but now he is trying to have fruit with me. Keep the snacks for your kids healthy and they won't bother you so much. I got this way from snacking my whole life away. It's never to early to try to encourage your kids to be healthy. Most kids I know would be happy with apple slices and some low fat peanut butter, or lowfat cream cheese on celery. You can make their snacks up ahead of time too. Little paper cups of already washed grapes or strawberries seem festive. For the beach, instead of ice cream or popsicles we took frozen mixed fruit in paper cups wrapped in handiwrap with a spoon already stuck inside. People on the beach asked us where we bought them. When people are over and I seem to keep serving things, I have a big pitcher of ice tea and get a drink if I start handing out food.

The lean cuisines are a great convinience and they are so easy to fit into the plan. I have a problem making myself eat breakfast. As close as I can come is frozen Special K waffles, or I eat a salad instead. It's a time issue. I guess I have to get up earlier. I have always been one of those people who just skipped breafast. I can see now why I ran out of steam by 11:30.

Re: lean cusines

I love those too.
Glad to hear so many Alli People like the Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones. They've been calorie and fat savers for me, not because I have a busy life style, just the opposite. But I hate meal planning living alone, and these solve that problem, plus eating right and enjoying the content. Occasionally, I fix a fruit bowl and once in a while mix fruit with low fat yogurt to curb my sweet tooth. I have a really big one! It was hard to quit eating in between meals altogether, so the fruit and yogurt and frozen dinners have really helped. Also got some 90 calorie granola bars by special K and but the sodium and carbohydrates are higher than I need, so use them sparingly. This is the second time around with My Alli for me, and so know it works as long as I work with the plan. Glad to share and grateful for the rest of you sharing your ups and downs, and in betweens. It WILL work for all of us. Hang on for a great ride!. 65and gaining....

Re: lean cusines

Yes, I have been also eating lean cusines and so far have liked all the ones I have tried, and are very filling. Usually eat them for dinner with a salad. For lunch usually have a slice of ham on rye bread with mustard. Also have 14 low fat pringles, and a low fat cookie.

Re: lean cusines

obshortie:

I am pretty new to this as well, have been on the meal plan they select for me this week but I have a few questions! Do you ladies count the calories you eat throughout the day and make sure it matches up (if you are eating lean cuisine)? I seem to have a problem meeting my calories with the meal plan because I do not eat big portions of anything! Like with the mushroom omlet I had this morning..they wanted to have me eat a piece of toast with jam on it...I can't eat all that! So I am 100 calories behind my goal already today. I LOVE lean cuisine and if I could do those for lunch and then cook dinner, that would be awesome! So if anybody does count calories through out the day while eating lean cuisine, please let me know...it would make life much easier!

Yes, you should try to keep track of what you eat throughout the day. In the meals with LC, you want to be sure to round it out with a salad with LF or FF dressing, a whole grain roll with peanut butter, and a piece of fruit. Whether you use regular, LF or FF dressing will depend on hows much fat is in the LC, and how much peanut butter on the roll, etc. It's a bit of a game, trading off here and there as you go along.

You may not hit the nail on the head every single meal, or every single day, but it's best if your fairly close.

I hope that helps.

The veggies will fill you up full of fiber just watch out for starchy veggies. I did Jenny Craig for a while (just got a little exspensive) and the one thing I learned was volumizing with veggies.
