I got my meal bowl made with 90% veggies (celery, onions, green onions, water chestnuts) LOTS of hunan sauce (looks just like soy sauce but other spices in it) 10% little chicken pieces, Little bit more soy sauce, and chili oil. Oh my it was absolutely tasty and amazing. My only worry was even though I saw them make it do I really know they did not add oil. If they only used what was in my bowl (as far as I could tell, they did) I am golden, however my booklet said oil based sauces were bad. I looked up nutritionals on the web and it appears soy sauce-ish kind of sauces are in the clear. I certainly hope so! If this will be great to eat on plan, I will be learning how to cook up a good stir-fry IMMEDIATELY!

I suppose if any extra oil is used in the future (maybe they only have that in case the customer doesnt add enough of their own sauces) I wonder how much would be added and should I worry about it. I would assume it is vegetable oil.

Since I am a tad new, if this sounds off-plan or not a good idea I would love it if you let me know. Otherwise I am gonna really love vegetables more than ever especially on Friday lunch day!. P.S. How do I buy hunan sauce ;)

Gluten Free Recipe Exchange

Is anyone interested in doing a gluten free recipe exchange?
Chicken Alfredo

Serves 6 - 8 (Serving Size 1 ½ Cups)

8 oz Barilla Plus Pasta (I used the Penne & Rigatoni mixed together)

¼ cup Fat Free Chicken Broth

½ tsp white pepper

½ tsp salt

3 boneless chicken breast filets cut into bite sized pieces (I used the Purdue Italian Seasoned Perfect Portions)

Non-Stick Spray

2 tbs Land o Lake Light Butter

¼ cup whole wheat flour

¼ fresh grated parmesan cheese

Prepare pasta according to package directions.

In a large non-stick skillet sauté the onion, garlic, peppers, broccoli, in ¼ cup Fat Free Chicken broth, Italian seasoning, white pepper and salt until tender, but crunchy. Remove from pan and set aside.

Using the same non-stick skillet, spray with a non-stick spray and sauté chicken until done. Remove form pan.

Melt 2tbs of light butter and add flour, to make a roux. Using a whisk stir in 1 cup of Fat Free Half & Half, stirring constantly until smooth and creamy, add chicken broth until desired thickness is reached stir in the grated parmesan cheese until all the cheese is melted.

Noodle
Kugel is a standard in probably all Jewish homes – I was raised on it.
I’ve tried this recipe and it’s “almost” as good as my mom’s full fat version
!!! Recipes similar to this one are often called
"kugel." There are many kinds of kugel - some sweet, some savory.
Raisins and cinnamon are optional ingredients in this recipe because they are
usually used in the sweet version. If you want to use it as a potato
substitute, use less sugar and no cinnamon or raisins. Adding 1/3 cup raisins
adds 10 calories per serving. This is comparable to baked rice pudding or bread
pudding.

16 ounces (2 cups) low-fat cottage cheese
8 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese (Neufchatel)
8 ounces (1 cup) nonfat vanilla yogurt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups liquid egg substitute (or equal amount of egg whites)
12 ounces whole-wheat noodles, cooked and drained
1/3 cup raisins (optional)
1 teaspoon cinnamon mixed with 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

1. Spray a 9-by-13-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside. Preheat
the oven to 350 F.

2. In a large bowl, beat together the cottage cheese, cream cheese, yogurt,
vanilla, sugar and egg substitute. Add the cooked, drained noodles and the
raisins (if using), and mix well.

3. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar
mixture (if using). Bake for about 1 hour, or until a sharp knife inserted into
the center comes out clean. Serve warm or at room temperature. Refrigerate
leftovers.

Makes 15 servings.

Each serving contains approximately: 213 calories; 4 gm fat; 13 mg cholesterol;
239 mg sodium; 34 gm carbohydrates; 12 gm protein; 2 gm fiber.

What is the safest Chineese food to eat? My boyfriend's favorite restaurant is a Chineese seafood buffet. I try to stick to the fresh fruit bar, the veggies and the vegetable rice, but what about the rest? My favorite dishes are all covered in sauces or deep fried. I don't know what would be the best.

2. Has anyone had any problems with hard liquor? I don't drink a lot but I am a college student and at times I do go out and party with my friends. Do I have to quit drinking on Alli? I read the books that came with the starter pack and it said that acohol has 0 fat, but I would like to hear some feedback before I drink out in public while taking Alli.

Substitutions for Alcohol

Does anyone have ideas for substitutes for alcohol? I know I can substitute white grape juice for white wine, but I need ideas for subs for red wine, red wine vinegar, and the many different alcohols that people use in cooking (brandy, rum, beer, etc). I know most of the alcohol burns off in the cooking process, but I don't buy alcohol or keep it in the house. Any ideas?

Thai Nutritional Info?

We love Thai food - verrrrrry different from Chinese - particularly some of the dishes that do not include coconut milk so shouldn't be very bad. But I'm having a hard time finding nutritional info for Thai food. Does anyone have any ideas?
