But if you read the booklet, SBD is a little high for this program, but Pritikin is way low for this program. They recommend a WW or JC-type meal plan with this program.

Re: Speedy weight loss with Alli...

A good ideal is to do low fat and low carbs it is possible, just make sure you take a multi vitiman. I would think the results will be great. You can actually be on the atkins diet and not eat alot of high fat foods. Example a grilled chicken with some green beans or mustard greens. That is very low cards and low fat and seem with that and allr you are bound to shed the pounds very very fast.

Re: Speedy weight loss with Alli...

I think the best way to be able to commit and really change your eating habits is to eat a variety, you need carbs but you have to choose the good carbs and don't over do it. Instead of having white bread which is all processed have whole grain or whole wheat. Also, you need to choose good fats like nuts, and fish. A balanced diet including both good fats and good carbs is really your best bet and it will be the easiest to stick with permanately, fad diets just don't last over time and trust me, I have tried them all.

Re: Speedy weight loss with Alli...

Hi Angela. I am Joyce. I agree with what you have written. I have tried just about every diet there is and the outcome, even more weight and a larger size each time I try. I DO gain weight on carbs; it's a proven fact. I am at 166#, my goal, approx 130 lbs; about the same as you (you are almost there, congratulations). Do you have documentation of how you got to 141, meaning the meal plan you followed, and if so, would you be kind enough to share? I know you are busy with your job but it sure would be appreciated. Even one week's worth of ideas would be a tremendous help. I am at the point where I don't mind eating the same thing every day for one week (and it's more economical). Thank you. Your words are encouraging!

Re: Speedy weight loss with Alli...

The Booklet that came with the starter pack said it takes two weeks to see a weigh lost. Like you, I am restricting both fat and carbs, and it seems the easiest way for me to do that is to consume an equal amount of fat/carbs/protein. So far, this week, I've had several perfect 33/33/33 days, and since I've lost 11 lbs in the past two weeks I think this is working for me. The really good part is that those restrictions and balance also allow me to comply with the alli restriction of 15g fat per meal. When my nutrition chart is a little heavy on one side for the day, I balance it out with a high protein - low fat/carb - drink or food. I started alli yesterday, so my next 11 lbs will actually be 16 lbs lost. YAY - and thank you alli!

Congratulations on your weight loss so far, and good luck to you in reaching your goal! :)

Re: Speedy weight loss with Alli...

What are your typical meals like? Lol, so why am i here u may wonder. I am here because i gaind allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll of it back . The second i tried to eat "norman" I gained. The key word is Speedy weight loss. There is no such thing as a speedy weight loss that u can incorperate into your life for the rest of your life. Yes you lose the pounds fast, but lets be realistic it is not healthy and is wond last forever. I think alli and its plan is something one could do for the rest of there lives. Even if a person is not over weight this diet is good and healthy. To be blunt i dont view this as a diet, but a life style change. I wish you luck with all you do.

Re: Speedy weight loss with Alli...

I agree that processed low fat foods can be higher in sugar and carbs, but if you are going to follow a diet with higher fat and lower carbs, are you concerned about having the side effects from alli? Have you had any so far?

I lost a lb since I took the pill yesterday, but that always happens when I start doing something new. I'm sure the scientists that have created this pill have questioned such things as these. However, when you start doing low carb, you have to maintain that throughout your entire life - which most people don't, and in the end, they gain back their weight, and even more. With fat, however, your body is still taking in fat, at a relatively normal rate (not 10/15 grams a day .. like carb trends) and is easier to manage once you're actually off the pill. All of the fat will be absorbed, but it won't matter as much because you've learned to eat a lower amount of it.
