I tried a new food last night. Quinoa (keen-wah), which is a grain similar to rice. If you are looking for a high fiber, high protein grain, this is it! Just a little bit really fills you up. I used it with my stir-fry veggies instead of having rice. I only had 1/2 cup of it and I was STUFFED after my meal. I think I'll try just using a 1/4 cup next time. lol

I seem to be maintaining my weight pretty well. I've been really sticking to exercising every day and enjoying the cooler weather we are having right now. It's such a nice change from the extreme heat we had last week.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Re: 20's to 40's that actually check in

Hi guys,

Just a quick note to see how you all are doing.

It was my check in day today, but I skipped the weigh in. It is a week before TOM and I already know that means at least a 6 pound increase. Also I had a very very rough week. I didn't follow plan at all. I didn't even bother taking the pills. So I am sure the scale will have an awful number for me...I have been dealing with some very personal things and am just not handling it well. All the stress and worry, and doubts allowed me to easily (to easily) crawl (jump) back into my old eating habits. Today has been no better, but tomorrow is a new day, a new start to a new week, and I am jumping right back into things.

Hope you all are doing well.

Kelly

I'm so glad you were able to lose 2 pounds and are in the 170's range. i'm so jealous. meow. i can't wait to be in the 170 range; just a few more pounds and i'll be there.

thank you for the info on the ticker i totally appreciate it. i finally got it figured out.

you remind me of a friend i had in the air force; you look just like her and seem as bubbly too. her name was mary.

So what were the 'comfort splurges' for? that's me being snoopy. My husband took me out for breakfast sat morn after kayaking and canoeing and i was so afraid with restaurant food i'd gain, but i ended up having a veggie omelette and divided it into thirds and had 1/3 for breakfast, 1/3 for lunch and 1/3 for dinner so it worked out great. I was stoked when i had a good weigh in on mon. two pound for me also. woo hoo.

have a great one and stay in touch.

peace

Checking in.

Thanks for yor words of support Nita. *hugs* Well, it was check in time again. 2 pounds gone!! I am relieved to be honest. The week started out great, but went down hill fast. After a couple of "comfort" splurges and I thought for sure there would be no loss this week. So 2 pounds is awesome!

Nita: I got my ticker from the ticker factory The ticker itself is easy to set up. It guides you through it. To add to your signature here, just go to myprofile, then to edit my prefrences, at the bottom of the page it says My Signature, just click edit my signature and paste the code that you get at the tickerfactory. Hope that helps.

hang in there. it could be water weight or too much sodium. sodium is in almost everything, gotta watch out for it.

how did you do you weight loss ticker? i still don't have one up and need too. i'm challenged in the computer arena sometimes.

keep exercising, it gets easier with time and it will show on your body too. i can already see definition/toning in my legs and my husband too and he doesn't notice anything unless it's gigantic or something like that. lol.

He did give my some exercises for rebuilding the strength in my shoulder and cautioned me not to overdo it.
Just checking in. Well I weighed in today, and lost nothing. =0( BUT I did not gain either =0) So while I was hoping to see the 1 - 2 pound loss, I am very glad that I at least stayed the same. I still consider that a success. Though it does give me extra motivation for this week to see a loss next week!

I started working out again this week - first time in a long time. I am sore, lol, but feeling pretty good!

Hope you all are doing well!!

I've got blisters on both feet, sore calf muscles and still can't put much weight on my shoulder. Really does limit the exercise one can do but I've found some sandals that work for walking and I bought a hula hoop for working my abs. lol I'm excited to see the Ortho on Monday. Should get info on PT for my shoulder and hopefully okayed to start some exercise with it. I feel like I'm losing whatever muscles my arms had because I haven't been able to do much.
