caloric and fat recomendation to high???

    Hi,

I haven't actually started taking the pills yet but my concern is that because I exercise 6 days a week for between 45-60 min a day that I'm supposed to eat 1800 cal. and 60 g. of fat a day! I never eat more than 1500 cal or 35 g of fat. I'm afraid to increase like the plan suggests for 2 reasons: Weight gain and treatment effects! Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe I haven't been eating enough calories and that's why I'm not able to loose any weight, but I'm always so full by the end of the day I can't imagine how I'll ever be able to add 300 more calories. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Sabrina

Re: caloric and fat recomendation to high???

    Hi S1d1c1u1,

I know that it seems difficult to understand how you can lose weight by adding calories and fat. I am not sure what method you were using to count calories before. Most people underestimate the number of calories and fat grams that they consume, especially when eating out. Unless you are preparing everything yourself, and weigh and measure everything, you were probably consuming more than you thought. If 1800 calories was calculated for you then you will be able to lose weight on that. Remember that every teaspoon of oil or butter has 5 grams of fat so 1 tablespoon has 15 grams and 135 calories and that is just what is being added to the food! My suggestion would be to stick with the plan for 4 weeks and see if you notice any changes in your weight. Keep us posted on how it's going, Betty Kovacs, MS, RD
