    My Activity Plan Progress

I just did my first check-in and noticed my activity progress was not posted.  I exercised 4 days this past week and logged in both cardio and strength-training; however, it does not appear on my progress charts.  Do I have to be on the plan for 2 weeks before it appears?

    Re: My Activity Plan Progress

    Hi dgori,

Thanks for writing and welcome to alli!  You should be able to post all of your activity via the website under "myactivity", following the prompts to the cardio and strength training logs.  After entering your information, be sure to click the "post" at the bottom of the page. You do not have to be on the plan for 2 weeks before posting.  It should be able to be entered very soon after you have registered into the alli website.

If you are still having trouble, do not hesitate to write back. We would also love to help you with any additional questions or concerns re: health and fitness.

    Best of luck,

    Kelli

    Re: My Activity Plan Progress

Hi, Kelli!  Thanks for the speedy response.  I have been logging daily activities into my activity plan since Aug. 22nd, and I see the logged info when I check out my weekly activity plan.  What I don't see is my activity progress chart, the link available next to my weigh-in, my caloric, and my fat intake charts on myalliplan page.  All the charts are available except my activity chart; I have doublechecked to see if my activities are logged in and they are.  Anyway, I have contacted the tech help desk for this one.

My question is this:  I started a workout program in July.  I  began the diet plan on Aug. 20, and started the alli pills on Aug. 25.    I lost 3 lbs. that first week.  My official check-in with alli was Sept. 2; when I weighed in, I had lost only 1 lb.  That seems strange because I feel like I'm slimming down, but the scale isn't validating this for me.  I understand that I could be losing inches without weight, but can you explain to me how that can be?  I am doing approx. 45 mins. of combined treadmill and step machine 4-5 days a week, and strength training/ab work 2 days a week for about 30 min.  I am following the diet plan very well, sometimes going under the daily caloric and fat intake because it just seems like a lot of food!  What is your expert opinion of how I'm doing?  Should I make any changes?

Thanks for your help -- Donna G.

    Re: My Activity Plan Progress

    Hi Donna G.,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your log.  Please keep me posted on the help desk's response.

In terms of your current fitness regime, it sounds like you are doing a phenomenal job.  The fact that you are combining cardio and weight training into your weeks is exactly what you should be doing.  Keep in mind that intensity is key.  Each workout should be a challenge to you.  If you can incorporate some new exercises such as cycling, swimming, aerobics, etc, into your routines, that's also going to benefit you because you will be challenging your muscles to work in new ways, and won't stuck in a repetitious rut.  Regarding your caloric intake, you want to make sure you don't go too low in calories either, which can have a detrimental effect on your plan.  You should consult the dietician online about this.

Now, you say you feel like you are slimming down, which is a great indicator of progress.  You also are losing weight. 1-2 pounds per week is the ideal, healthy amount of weight to lose. You actually can be losing inches in the way of fat and also building new muscle mass.  Since muscle is more dense than fat, as you build muscle and simultaneously burn fat, you may not see the scale reading demonstrate the "weight loss," even though you are in fact losing fat.  The muscle mass you are replacing the fat with will burn calories and fat even at rest, helping to keep your body operating more effectively as a fat burner.  But, give it some time.  Your body may also be adjusting to your fitness routine, and you may see small fluxuations that are perfectly normal.

What should give you a more accurate picture of your weight is how well your clothes are fitting, loss of inches and overall increases in strength and endurance.  You are making great progress, and haven't been on the plan very long.  You may be surprised to see a more rapid result in the coming weeks.

    Good Luck,

    Paul

    Re: My Activity Plan Progress

I too have logged in my workouts and they show up and I can get the calories burned chart, but after checking in the three progress sections I can't get any feedback from activity plan progress, it says I haven't entered it, is there another place to enter, or a glitch in the system?  Also my activity goals are listed as 60 min a week, I do about that every day, I didn't enter that goal, is there a way to change it?

    Re: My Activity Plan Progress

I have the same questions re: the "check in" sections about activity not showing anything for me and saying I haven't input data.

I have been putting in my exercise daily in my activity log.

Please let me know if tech. support sheds any light on this.

    Thanks!

    Re: My Activity Plan Progress

I'm a newbie, I actually JUST started the Alli today so haven't got much to say yet except I'm excited to LOSE weight!!!!!!  Portion control, exercise and motivation to lose weight are for sure essential weight loss needs!!

By reading the other messages the last month or so, sounds like they have had a problem with the technology behind typing in your Personal Progress....I get the same message: No weight, calorie intake, excerise posted type of messages haunting me too.

I e-mailed support yesterday about it but haven't yet heard back.  Seems to be no hyperlink lit up for you to go in and enter your data.  To me this is one great motivator!!  :-)

    Any suggestions??

    Have a GREAT day/week....

    Re: My Activity Plan Progress

     Hi bettyrickey,

I love your attitude toward reaching your goals.  Stick with the outline you've listed and you will be successful.  I'm sorry to hear you've had trouble with the Personal Progress portion.  You'll probably hear back from technical support by tomorrow.  If not, try giving them a call.

Keep up the great work.  In the meantime, keep your own log and don't stop!

    Good Luck,

    Paul
