    Lower back pain

Just wondering if anyone has felt symptoms similar to kidney or bladder infection.  Not sure if it's something like that,  or muscle.  I have been exercising regularly.  And walked 4 miles yesterday. Did not noticed any muscle strain.  I woke this morning feeling really bad.  I have been on Alli for 4 or 5 weeks.  Never felt anything like this.  I feel I am drinking plenty of water.  Any thought folks?

    Re: Lower back pain

Guess my first question would be - did you exercise regularly prior to going on the Alli plan?  I know I didn't so about the first month or so I just ached and ached.  The only reason my back burns yesterday and today - bending over, putting mulch in a bucket then walking it over and throwing it on the garden - but the garden's are going to look so nice prior to that white stuff coming down !!

    Re: Lower back pain

I was just looking for something like this. I have been on Alli for 4 weeks and have been experiencing pain in both my shoulders Don't know if it's related. Today my left shoulder hurts so badly I am a little concerned. Anyone else out there have any muscle or joint pain? I have been walking regularly too, but my exercising routine is not new since I have been on the program.

    Re: Lower back pain

Roxy, I once developed shoulder and forearm pain that was diagnosed as tendinitis and muscle strain.  The doctor gave me muscle relaxants and pain meds.  I was really hurting for a while and it was right before Thanksgiving travel.  It was so bad in my forearm that I couldn't hold a cup or a glass.  But seeing the doctor helped.  I suggest that you get to your doctor.  S/he can diagnose your pain better than any of us can.  And they can write you the appropriate prescription if that's required.  There is no reason the suspect that muscle pain is in any way caused by Alli.

    Re: muscle

I am already being treated for tendinitis. I am suspicious because the pain bothers me in both shoulders at night in just the last few weeks. This is the first day that the pain has continued into the day in my left shoulder. I really hurts and I have been up for 4 hours and taken medication for it. I am not convinced it is the Alli but I am drug intolerant and Alli is something new in my system. I willl skip for a couple days and see what happens. Thanks for your imput.

    Re: Lower back pain

Hmmm, interesting that you should say that.  I have been having muscle pain in my lower neck/upper back area for about three months now (same amount of time I've been taking alli).  I've been blaming it on my monitor height at work, but have moved it around a lot and it's still there.  I have my annual physical in a month, so thought I would give it until then to go away or talk to the doctor about it.  It hurts so much I am massagine it constantly.  I wonder.....

    Re:shoulder pain

Thanks for responding. I had my annual physical in May and my tendenitis issues were addressed then which is why I am surprised at a new ache. I am 56 (retired)30 lbs overweight and reasonably physical active, (cardio 3-5 times a week) so can't pinpoint a reason for this. I am going to skip Alli for a couple days and see what happens. If my pain goes away I'll start taking it again. If it comes back...........I don't know if you saw my earlier post but I am very drug intolerant. So maybe Alli won't be for me. But I have lost weight and I love the website, especially the nutrition log. Really opened my eyes to some things I should be paying attention to

    Re: Re:shoulder pain

Please let me know if cutting out the alli helps you.  I seriously doubt the two have anything to do with each other, but the coincidence is quite interesting to me.

    Re: Lower back pain

Yes, I had been walking prior to taking the Alli.  I try to make it to the YMCA at least three days a week.  But this lower back pain came out of nowhere.  I went to the doctor today.  I had a lot of blood in my urine.  She gave me an anti inflammatory prescription, and pain medication.  She said if I wasn't better in 24 hrs that she wanted to do a cat scan to check for kidney stones.  I told her about the Alli.  Her only concern was something about the thyroid meds I am on.  I didn't really understand.  Something about filtering through the liver.  I have no idea.

    Re: Lower back pain

Judy, it may be your keyboard/mouse instead of your monitor.  You may want to go to an ergonomics website to see the proper levels for each.  It's worth a shot anyway.  I hope you feel better!
