    Hello rvalen07

Here is my saying for Alli use....

What goes in will come back out.

So If you stick with the plan and do what you are supose to do.  Hitting your Calorie and Fat counts then you are putting good in and then good will come out.

But if you put bad in and go over the limits then bad will come out. Also I have found that certain foods are bad for my body so bad comes out.  But let me tell ya I haven't had anything real bad or embarrasing happen. but then I have stuck to the plan as best as I can. So there fore no real bad TE's. Don't get me wrong I have had some loose bowel movements and some constipation but nothing to make me say forget this.  I have been on it a week and am LOVING IT!! I mean what pill have you found that will have you lose a pound a day in your first week?  I found Alli!  Now I don't expect that every week but it sure does feel good right now and helps me put faith in what I am doing right now with my life.  You can do this!!!  Just put faith in yourself!  As long as you stick to the plan nothing will go wrong.

Re: i wanna start but worried about treatment effects really need your feedback

    Ho Rvalen07,

I've been on Alli since late June, and have not had a single treatment effect.  Like Misty said, what goes in, comes out.  I've been careful about what I eat and have exercised more.  My weight loss did slow after the first week and now I lose about a pound a week.  That may be slower than some, but I'm happy with it.  Losing a pound is way better than no change or gaining, and I'm willing to stick with this for as long as it takes.  I've lost 17 pounds so far, so I'm nearly halfway there (want to lose 40).  I feel so much better than when I started, and have started to buy clothes in a smaller size.  The most important thing is that I'm learning to eat better, and am more aware of portion sizes.  There are some great posts at the top of the first page from Betty, one of the moderators for this site.  I suggest you read those before you start.  She does a great job explaining why we need to stay within our goals for calories and fat each day.

    Good luck!

Re: i wanna start but worried about treatment effects really need your feedback

Hi there, Misty gave you great advice!! If you fallow the program and stay within your fat grams you should have no problems. You definetly will get the urge when you need to have a bowel movement. I have been taking Alli since July 18th and have had no accidents IoI. If you commit to the program, you will get results!! I love the changes that I have made in my lifestyle, am much more active, am doing exercises that had never tried before, have met fabulous  people on the site, am definetly learning to cook and eat healthier, and have a much more positive attitude about myself!! Do not be afrid and go for it!! Start the program, it works!!

Live, love and laugh while you are at it!! PEP= plan, exercise and post!! Hugs,

Re: i wanna start but worried about treatment effects really need your feedback

All I can say is DON'T worry!  If you watch your fat intake, which I have found surprisingly easy to do, you won't have symptoms, other than odd looking poo.

I only had one episode, and really think it was from the sugarfree/fat free ice cream I ate, I tend to be lactose intolerant. (the less fat a dairy product contains the more lactose it has)  And even that wasn't some horror story of uncontrollable mess.

Definitely do the "prediet pill" thing, low fat diet a few days before you start taking the pills.

Re: i wanna start but worried about treatment effects really need your feedback

I've been with Alli since the middle of June also.  Never a TE.  I like Burger King's cini mini's, but they have 26 grams of fat.  I still allow myself to have 1 serving a month, but that day I don't go on any long drives and stay pretty close to the bathroom, or at least know where they are in advance.  No horror story, but just loose.  I can't imagine how much fat some of the people who complain about TE's must have, when they tell their horror stories.  So stay with the program and you'll do well.  Nothing ventured...nothing gained.

Like you, I was worried as well.  I have experienced some TE's but like everyone else no major horror stories.  When I don't stick with the recommened calorie and fat intake I do have TE's.  I have learned a lot about food portions, which is a biggy for me, and calorie/fat intake.  After the first few weeks you learn what you can and can not eat to control the TE's.  It becomes easier.  I started in late July and have lost 10 lbs.  Losing slowly but it is worth it.  I feel better about myself.

Let us know if you give it a try and what you experience.

    Kim
