I love my snacks and would not make it through the day without them!

Here's my top 10 - all easy to grab and go!

    2. Popcorn: I buy the 100 calorie bags. I can eat all of it if I want and no guilt. It's very filling.
    3. Frozen Fruit Bars: I love the Edy's frozen fruit bars. The orange one tastes just like a creamsicle! 80 calories, 1.5 gr fat.
    4. Veggies: Baby carrots and celery sticks are ready to go! Cucumber slices are refreshing too - prepare them a bunch at a time and store them in the fridge.
    5. Yogurt: I buy the low fat kind. With all the awesome flavors, how can you resist. My fav is Boston Cream Pie.
    6. Seltzer: I love cans of Seltzer. i grab one when I htink I'm hungy, but always feel better after a flavored drink.
    7. Fruit: Expand your horizons and try a new fruit. Cut up a bunch before the week starts and store in plastic containers - ready to go!

Re: Top 10 List: Favorite snacks to grab and go!

    oatmeal creme brulee

    2 cups quick oats -- or 2 1/4 cups old-fashioned oats, uncooked
    1/3 cup splenda
    1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
3 1/3 cups nonfat milk [soymilk works well -- too]
2 eggs -- or 1/3 cup egg substitute, lightly beaten
    2 teaspoons vanilla
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 8-inch-square glass baking dish with cooking spray.

In large bowl, combine oats, granulated sugar and salt.

In medium bowl, combine milk, eggs and vanilla; mix well. Add to oat mixture; mix well. Pour into baking dish. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until center jiggles slightly. Removed from oven to cooling rack.

Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over top of oatmeal. Using back of spoon, gently spread sugar into a thin layer across entire surface of oatmeal. Return to oven; bake just until sugar melts, about 2 to 3 minutes. Set oven to broil. Broil 3 inches from heat until sugar bubbles and browns slightly, 1 to 2 minutes. (Watch carefully to prevent burning. It may be necessary to turn baking dish.) Spoon into bowls to serve.

oh, if you like chick peas, your gonna love this!

1 can of chick peas, rinsed and drained.  spread them out on a cookie sheet, drizzle some olive oil on the chick peas, bake in oven at 400 for 25-35 minutes (til their brown and crunchy)

i eat them like popcorn.  sometimes i sprinkle garlic powder and cayenne pepper on them, sometimes i just eat it plain.  let me know how ya like em!

Two questions actually! Would love the oatmeal recipe. And - roasted chickpeas? Are these something you buy or make? Where? How? Sounds DELICIOUS.

Re: Top 10 List: Favorite snacks to grab and go!

Okay first, I posted without reading the whole thread (if the moderator posted it!) Oops! I see the recipes and they look great! Can't wait to try them!

    10. Nonfat plain yogurt with lemon juice, garlic, pepper, dill and chives (made ahead of time) and a handful of fresh sliced veggies/pretzels or reduced fat wheat thins or triscuits.

    9. nonfat vanilla yogurt stir in a spoonful of your favorite jelly or jam (i love black cherry) and either some fruit or a handful of walnuts or almonds.

    8. hot chocolate!

    7. tomato soup, so good, and comforting!

    6. any fresh fruit, just pre-separate into smaller containers for the "on the go" part

    5. hard boiled eggs (this one is new to me, i hard boil half the eggs i buy each time, that way I know they are there and ready)

    4. reduced fat small tortillas thrown in the microwave for about 20 seconds and spread with a small amount of peanut butter (this helps me keep the quantity of peanut butter down!) roll it up and eat it on the way out the door! (i have a lot of variations on this one! most of which add fat and calories of course).

    3. English muffin with a spread of lowfat whipped cream cheese and a big thick slice of tomato

    2. smoothies

    1. seltzer with a splash of either orange juice, cranberry juice, or lemon and lime juice. (the orange juice one makes me feel a little like i'm having a mimosa, haha!)

Re: Top 10 List: Favorite snacks to grab and go!

My favorite snack is dried cranberries and raw almonds. I throw a handful of each into a sandwich bag and toss it in my purse. It's a great snack to eat wherever and it's sweet and crunchy!
