snacks make life worth living Here are some of mine:
Cooked peeled shrimp with cocktail sauce - I throw 7 in a baggie frozen in the morning. By snacktime they are thawed and I keep a bottle of cocktail sauce in the desk drawer - lol.
Apple or pear and one ounce of cheddar cheese - mmmm like a picnic in my office.
A slice of whole wheat bread with a light coat of peanut butter - this is my after dinner thing. Filling and feels like a cheat, but its not.
veggies and hummus - better than pita bread, more flavor
homemade bagel chips. one bagel makes ALOT. (4 servings easily) slice anyflavor bagel in thin (1/4 inch) circles, spray lightly with pam or olive oil spray, put them in a baggie with your favorite flavors - I like adobo, paprika and garlic powder, shake it all up and spread on a baking sheet. Bake for 7 minutes at 350 or broil for 3 minutes until toasted. Crunch, salty and satisfying.
FF fudgsicle, cause sometimes ya gotta have chocolate. Even the not FF are not taboo.
bean dip and baked scoops chips. (I add one heaping tbsp salsa to 1/2 cup lowfat or ff refried black beans or any refried beans, nuke it 30 seconds before eating and I am hap hap happy.)
Melon chunks wrapped in turkey ham slices. salty and sweet. Nice! 2 slices of meat cut into strips will do about10 chuncks of melon.
Microwave popcorn - add 1/4 of the dried cheese from the kraft macaroni and cheese after the corn pops, (make a wreath with the "pasta") shake it up. High on the sodium count so beware.
frozen small banana dipped (once) in heated fat free hot fudge. Portion control is important on this one. But if you have calories but no fat grams to spare oh man is this good.
