    Thai Nutritional Info?

We love Thai food - verrrrrry different from Chinese - particularly some of the dishes that do not include coconut milk so shouldn't be very bad.  But I'm having a hard time finding nutritional info for Thai food.  Does anyone have any ideas?

    Re: Thai Nutritional Info?

Looks like Taste of Thai isn't a bad choice (this is a company that makes packaged sauces and kits), see:

Going to a restaurant is going to be more, of course, and the fat grams can get close to or even exceed a meal allowance. The veg/tofu, scallop and shrimp versions are best, chicken and pork versions are worse but not super-awful. Beef is 30 fat grams per half the dish (one serving size)!

Essentially, as would be expected, you do better by making it at home and by using lighter meats or no meat at all.

    Re: Thai Nutritional Info?

Thanks.  I keep hoping to find info on some of the less famous dishes like Minty Beef or Green Papaya salad.  Figuring I will have to find recipes and do the nutritional analysis somewhere else but still having trouble with that.  Minty beef seems to just be like a beef stir fry with nothing too terrible in it but hard to tell!

    Re: Thai Nutritional Info?

Check your local library for cookbooks that include nutrition information for each recipe.  I believe there are a couple of Thai books with the info.  Also some "collection" books will include several recipes that are Thai.

You might also go to the Food Network website and see if any of thier recipes have nutrition information.

    I hope this helps.
