Betty - Hang in there.  You need to set daily goals and celebrate those. Eating out is a challenge and sometimes we all give in.  Try to stick to salads and grilled chicken, but if you are like me if you are goign to pay to eat out you want something really good.  Just think how many calories you saved during the day when you did good. Small steps is the key, but don't give up.

Betty, I agree with jskdean..setting goals and celebrate those. Set yesterday behind you and start again today. You have seen your downfall, now pick yourself up and try again, its a new day! A lot of fast food place offer baked foods, salads and healthy meals, you just have to really look for them and not choose the ones you are use to choosing. I work in a dietary dept. and work around a lot of my favorite foods..that is why I'm big..lol..just one bite..well that one bite has put it on me and now I have set my mind to not do that one bite, no matter how tempting it is. Betty..it's mind over matter..or food..lol. When going out to eat..take time and look over the menu and pick wisely, it's your health and body. I think of it this way..do I want all that fat setting inside me (or the side effects from taking alli) or do I do baked and stay on my way to loosing that fat I have put inside me for years. Well, you guessed it...That is why I'm choosing the right food because I'm tired of being overweight and hiding in my big clothes and my body hurting from carrying all this weight.  You are a new you..every day is a challenge..so take your first step everyday and make it a good one! It helps me to keep a food journal and write everything down and at the end of the day I see what I have put inside me. Yes, I mess up sometimes but I pick up and go on. Good luck Betty. Will be checking in and see how you are doing..Remember: Its a new day and take it one step at a time. Cherylb

     Hello All-

i am new to the process and want to be successful. I have over 50 lbs to lose. I am planning a trip to Europe in August for my 50th Bday. I want to lose at lease 10-15 pounds before then.. I know this may be unrealistic but I have to set a goal. I am glad to see this thread to encourage me.

Well all, I have had a bad day yesterday.  I ate burger and tator tots for lunch and the fried fish for supper.  I'm not sure why.  I guess I was so busy and that was what was convenient.  Today is another day.  I hope it is better.

Hi, I am also new to the program.  I just started eating healthy yesterday.  The past two days have been great.  I will begin Alli supplements on Saturday.  I am nervous about the side affects.  Anyways, I appreciate your postings and wish you all success.  One day at a time....

Hello...I see you're worried about the te.  I take it as treatment effect?  Don't worry as long as you don't eat too much fat.  Stick to the low fat diet and you shouldn't have any problems.  It's when you eat too much fat that you get the oily stools.  Other than that you should do great.  If you've made up your mind to lose the weight you can do it.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

    Hello All!!!

I started the diet on 5-13 and the pills on the 15th. So far I have lost 4 lbs ... I gained alot of weight during my pregnancy  and I wanna get back to at least 150 ... the lowest I have weighed in years. My son is now 1 and a half years old and I think Its time for me to start losing the weight. I lost 10 pounds previous to alli but couldn't get past 215 ... i then gained and went back to 219.

I wish all of us to have the strength to keep pushing ourselves to our goals.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

trisha82 - I am right there with you.  I lost about 40 lbs last year, but can't seem to bring the 200 lb mark.  I got down to 202 for awhile, but now i am back to 210.  I am more frustrated with myself than anything, and I know there is probably more I could be doing, but it is still discouraging when you gain back any of the weight you fought so hard to lose.

My goal weight is 150 as well, and I'm really considering getting a personal trainer for a couple of months to help me break past this plateau.  I just need to be as motivated as I was when I lost the 40 lbs, but it has definitely been a struggle for me and I'm sure losing the next 60 lbs will be even harder as my body gets closer to an ideal weight.

Good luck on your weight loss and I hope to be able to say I am back on track once again very soon.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

my sister lost 40 pounds in a year with weight watchers... i don't have to time or money to do that so i just started Alli. but she said something that just motivated the heck out of me about eating healthier and whether or not to eat something bad for you.... "is that going to TASTE as good as you would FEEL in a size 10" i say this to myself everytime i want something unhealthy. (for me it's salty not sweet stuff).

and you know what? NOTHING could taste that good!!!! i'm in a size 20 now, and everytime i look at the food i'm about to eat i say this to myself, and NO FOOD can make me feel as good as a size 10 would! lol even my favorites! and trust me, my husband has 2 (count em) 2 blocks of cheese in the fridge and it was hard as hell to refuse them!

i have been on Alli for a week and have lost 3 pounds.

YOU CAN DO IT! good luck evryone! and stay the course :)

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Good Morning everyone! Checking in. How is everyone doing? Elia..what did the doc say about toe/finger. I bet that hurts! I would of been curzing myself if it happened to me. Its going to be another hot one here today..102 not counting humidity. Swimming pool here I come this afternoon when I get off work. I've lost 1 lb. this week..I cheated last night and was wondering if it would show this morning on the scales, but it didn't and no TE. I have got to think next time, do I really want that or do I want to be a smaller size, not bigger size.  I was wondering something..do I need to go through my closet and get rid of my larger size clothes or keep them? I guess only being on alli 6 weeks..I have a good out look on being smaller, but I am I going to fail and need those bigger clothes? Guess from being on so many different yo-yo diets all my life, I feel I'm going to just give up and fail. I am loosing weight slowly, which is good. I am starting to see a difference in my bodyshape, some curves are showing up...lol.  Any help out there is appreciated! Is this something going through some of your minds, like it is mine. Got to get ready for work..everyone have a good day and keep up the good work! Cheryl

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Hello Barbara...just got home from work and was reading the new threads here..honey..take it one step at a time and one day at a time. Don't look at it as a long, long way to go. Look at it in a new way..that is why we set us small goals even if it is 1 lb. a week. Don't be discouraged or helpless, there is so many Great people here to help you. We all have been in your spot and that is why we are here too! There is some great folks here. My point of view, start small. Keep a small note book, calorie counter book and write down everything you eat. Try not to overwhelm yourself at first, take small steps and you will successed!  I eat every 2 1/2 hours and drink as much water/flavored water as I can and I stay full all the time. I have even read some of the people here don't even meet there calorie intake for the day because they stay full. That is what has happened to me, don't feel like I can put another bite in my mouth...its mind over matter.  Eat a lot of veggies and fruit and drink water helps. Instead of something sweet, pick up a fruit..its just our minds playing games with us because it was use to one way and now we are in control not our mind. Stick with it Barbara..we are all here behind you.  Time to go skinnydipping in my little outdoor pool...only the trees, varments and the good Lord will see me. Have a great one everyone. Cheryl
