Thank you for your interest in the alli program and your involvement in the community message board. alli is different because it is the only FDA-approved OTC weight loss aid. It also works in the digestive tract, does not enter the bloodstream or interact with your heart or brain. You may be experiencing your noted effects as your body adjusts to a reduced-calorie diet or increased physical activity. Make sure to eat your recommended allowance of calories throughout the day, stay hydrated and increase your physically activity level gradually. If effects continue, please see your healthcare professional.

Hi Olga, You sound like you've a good routine going. I am from Ireland and I can't access my alli plan online so I'm trying to find some good ideas. I am 252, i was about 50 pounds lighter two years ago and my weight went up when i met my fiancé... as you do! I'm getting married in 10 weeks and would love to drop a little bit just to feel better about myself. I only started on Saturday so i'm new to the whole thing, but so far so good. it'll take a bit of getting used to. I like the idea of it though because at least on allí, you can eat a healthy and varied diet.

    Best of luck, Claire.

     Hi Beth!

I am married to the military as well. My husband is going remote in january and although I am getting an early start, I want to be 150 or LESS when he comes back Jan 2011. Yes... I'll be a year without him so I have to do this on my own! Having 2 small kids can really make it difficult to get in that 'me' time... but be creative! Got a double stroller? Take them on walks with you...it'll be good for all of you! Also, if you live near or on a base, many of the gyms on base offer some kind of child care for free. If not, tag team with some other moms so you can all trade off child care and gym time.

Also, consider maybe trying Weight Watchers inconjunction with Alli. I understand it is one of the best programs that works WITH Alli. Once I no longer have to cook for him I am considering doing that myself.

I am here for you... as is everyone else here! We are all in the same boat =)

I started Alli on Saturday. So far so good... I almost feel like I am not eating enough. I know that sounds weird but I bought some nuts to help make up fat grams if I fall short. I have also found that I can still eat my FAVORITE food in the world... PEANUT BUTTER!!! I make sandwiches and smoothies with it...yum!

     Hi Jan,

Have you considered trying some smoothies? With the right ingredients you can have a meal in one. They only take a few minutes to make....and are cool and refreshing as well as filling!

    My favorite one:

    2 Tbls peanut butter

    1 banana

1/4 cup 1% milk (or skim)

1 Tbls chocolate syrup (sugar free if you need)

1 serving container of Yo-Active low fat vanilla yogurt,

blend in blender...add a handful of ice... blend till smooth! The beauty of this is that you can adjust to your like and dislikes as well as the calories and fat you need.

     Hi Jan,

My name is Dawn and I know just how you feel.  Until recently I lived alone with my dog, Daisy and while I don't have the schedule that you have, there are many times that I am tired or just didn't feel like cooking.  Instead of eating out, I cook in bulk so that I have plenty of leftovers that are easy to heat up in the microwave.  If I REALLY don't want to eat at home, I will get a sub. Last, you can make meals that are mostly fruits and veggies that don't require cooking and are satisfying too.  We keep lots of salad made up and plenty of fruit on hand, such as watermelon or cantaloupe.  I hope this helps!  Best of luck to you!

     Hi Crystal,

I just started a little while taking Alli about two weeks ago and have lost 8 lbs. Lost about 14 pounds since January, but it was a long haul. The Alli has made it so much easier. I am at about 199 now and want to get down to about 140. I know if I keep doing what I am doing the weight will all eventually come off. Good luck with your success, I am excited to have joined the community. I know I will need the support to really make this happen.

I am sorry to hear you have only lost two pounds. Along with the Alli I have been taking a multi enzyme digestive supplement, along with fiber therapy, and it has seemed to really help, haven't been bloated, or constipated, and it seems like even corn is being completly digested. I was about 207 when I started a few weeks ago, and I am now 199.

     Hi everyone,

Thats a good idea with the smoothie Jan. I must say I keep forgetting to drink the 8 glasses of water, I drink at meal times but am useless otherwise!!I haven't weighed myself yet, started last sat and even though I don't know if i've lost any weight, I know i'm making much better food choices. I have been caught having to go out for dinner as there is family home for the last few days, but i just tried to make a good judgement about what was best on the menu, and i'm trying to leave a little after me also. I had one bad experience as a result of allí , but it was totally my own fault and ever since I find i'm refusing anything that I think may give me 'side effects'!! Interesting Jan that you say weight watchers is the best plan to follow with allí, that good because weight watchers is pretty easy to follow...it's really just managing to keep track of everything and also the points.

    Talk soon.

    Hi Claire,

    Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

They say that brides naturally lose weight, so, you've picked a really good time to diet!  They say that there is a powerful mental component, that the bride has a strong image of herself looking nice in her wedding dress, and, just that little mental push makes a big difference in terms of weight loss.  So, good luck to you!!!  You must be so very busy with the wedding happening so soon, so, it's really impressive that you've committed to devoting the time and energy that it takes to diet.  And yes, I think that the alli diet plan is probably the healthiest I've ever eaten in my life, and, I'm very free to eat all kinds of food.  :-)

    Good luck to you!

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

I hear you on not wanting to exercise after you come home at night.  I know if I sit down for one minute,I am not going to want to get up and go exercise for the rest of the night.  My best suggestion is what worked for me.  I joined a local gym last January.  I would go every once in awhile during the school year (I'm a teacher), but I found it difficult to maintain the schedule when I was just wiped out from my students.  This summer a friend of mine joined.  She is a teacher and we have similar schedules.  I found that when I don't want to go to the gym, she forces me to hold myself accountable.  In return, when I am energetic and ready to go workout I do the same for her.  It helps to have someone to answer to when you start a workout routine.  You could even find someone online that you have to report to regarding your exercise.  I have read about online friends that support each other through workout routines by making each other accountable to get that exercise in every day!  Good luck with everything!  I just started Alli myself and am wondering how it will impact my weight loss with the gym and my recent change in diet.

     Hi Crystal.

Congratulations!  I just started the program last Saturday.  I hope to loose 50lbs. by next year (July 2010).  Right now I weigh 177lbs and hope to reach 127lbs.  I need to feel comfortable again.
