    roocal -

Ooooh, Hebrew National hot dogs!  Can't wait to find out what you think of them.  I keep looking at them when I go to w-mart, but I just can't fathom paying almost $4 for what....6-8 hot dogs?  I've always wondered if they're good though.

I did like them and I highly recommend them.  They only downside aside from price is the high sodium.

Re: Hebrew National 97% fat free hot dogs

Thanks for the information. I love there low fat hot dogs but they still had alot of fat grams,I think about 16.  But now that I am on Alli I will have to try the 97% fat free and actually did not know they made them.

I will buy some tonight.  Its been tough keeping everyone happy in the house.  I have an eighteen month old that is just now getting into real food.  I buy him the little chicken with vegetable dinners alot and he loves his vegetables - I do not - maybe he will eat a lot better then mommy!

Re: Hebrew National 97% fat free hot dogs

Kosher "beef" hotdogs are the ONLY way to go (can you tell I was raised on them hahaha)  Best place to purchase them is at Sam's Club, GFS and I'm sure Costco sells them.  Ohhhh nothing better than a kosher hotdog :)

Re: Hebrew National 97% fat free hot dogs

I saw this thread the other day and thought I'd give them a shot.  When I was looking over the hotdog selection in the store I also saw the Oscar Meyer 98% fat free made with turkey (40 cal, 1g fat, 15mg cholesterol, 470mg sodium, 3g carbs, 5g protein).  I bought both to try.  And I thought the Oscar Meyer's tasted more like our pre-Alli dogs which were Ball Park beef franks.  I had thought the kosher beef dogs would come closest, but they tasted too strong to me.

But thanks to the OP for at least making me realize that there are amazing substitutes for things I thought were off-limits!

Re: Hebrew National 97% fat free hot dogs

I personally LOVE these 97% fat free Hebrew Nationals.  But you're right about the sodium - because who ever has only 1!  I can manage to do just one if I slice it length wise and then into pieces putting it in fat free veg. baked beans - but then you get the sodium of the beans (which overall are better then buns and ketchup and mustard...) not to mention the high iron and fiber content of the beans!  This is one of my favorite meals.
