    Positively addictive fat free dessert

This may seem like an obvious one, but I never knew I could like it that much! I like to eat dessert later at night, not with my meal, so I can't include the fat in my meal/with my pill. I'm trying different frozen yogurts/low fat ice creams but find I really miss the creaminess and its not the same. Then I made fat free pudding (regular instant pudding mix/skim milk) and started eating it with fat free cool whip. YUM. It's so creamy and refreshing I like it much better than the ice cream substitutes. It has NO fat so I don't have to worry about when I eat it, and it's only about 130 calories depending on portion. I usually have no problem needing the extra calories for the day, and its a good source of calcium as well. I look forward to it all day!

Lost of 30lbs and kept it off a year. Back now to get rid of the 15 regained + 5lbs I never lost.  "All the runners run, but only one gets the prize. Run in such a way as to get the prize." -I Corinthians 9

Re: Positively addictive fat free dessert

I'll have to try that thanks!

Also if you really crave ice cream...you could always save up a bit of fat grams for your snack (not too many) and try Edy's Slow Churned Ice Cream. Depending on the flavor...it's usually under 150 calories and  4 grams of fat (most are 3 to 3.5) and also if available in your area Blue Bunny Premium Light Triple Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwiches...omg THOSE are to die for and they are only 170 calories/3.5 grams of fat, so if you're like me and on the 200cal/3gof snack level...that just about fits in, and when I want one, I just make sure I've been low on my dinner fat (not too low of course)

Re: Positively addictive fat free dessert

I have been trying the low-fat or fat=free frozen yogurts out there, and they are so delicious.  I try to stay away from chocolate or chocolate chip.  The vanilla is great.  Some are only 3.5 grams of fat, but the fat-free are 0 and taste just as good.  I am getting used to the non-creamy taste and do not enjoy ice cream as much.  Try it sometimes.  Lots of places have low-fat or fat-free vanilla or chocoate yogurt, such as Coscos.  Let me know what you think.

Re: Positively addictive fat free dessert

I have come across an ice cream called Skinny Cow.  This is the first time I have heard of it and it only has 140 calories with 1.5 fat grams.  It comes in sandwiches (chocolate/vanilla/strawberry) and cones also.  I had one of the sandwiches after my lunch and boy did it hit the spot I could not tell any difference at all.  This is one thing that I sure will be looking forward too throughout my days.

Re: Positively addictive fat free dessert

I've tried low fat and non fat ice creams but nothing has been really "YUM." I dislike ice cream sandwiches in general (I want my ice cream soft in a bowl) so those are a waste for me. I do like Starbucks mocha bars but am always left wanting something in a bowl... and their lowfat ice cream is not that low. I tried Breyers fat free but it was not even worth consuming for the calories. I tried Hagaan Daz low fat coffee frozen yogurt and that was "okay." I also have a publix brand low fat frozen yogurt that has heath bar in it and that is the best I've had... still 3.5 grams in 1/2 cup though. Honestly, I've found I prefer the pudding but I'm still hoping for a really good ice cream.

Re: Positively addictive fat free dessert

I have a question.  If something has no fat grams and is low calorie can I eat it at night. I am having a huge problem with after dinner.  That is when I eat most of the junk.

    Thanks

I also have a problem after dinner, as that was the time I craved my sweets.  I am learning that the calorie count is as important as watching the fat count.  I have learned that I do not loose  much weight when I don't monitor the calories as close.  I try to have hard candy around to somewhat appease my sweet tooth, only 30 calories.  I am still trying to find low calorie, low fat substitutes to my sweet tooth, while learning, hopefully, to get past the cravings.  I also try a swallow of diet coke, which helps immensely to satisfy the craving for a short time.  Good luck.

Re: Positively addictive fat free dessert

Bryers has a new fat free icecream out.   It is creamy and very good.  Flavors are French chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.  My husband is an icecream lover and even he loves this.  It's called Bryers Free.  I don't think anyone would be disappointed with this one.

Re: Positively addictive fat free dessert

I found a great dessert and only has small amount of fat and is very satifying...take a chocolate rice cake and spoon on 1/4 cup of FROZEN fat free cool whip....its just as creamy as ice cream and just as good...and I am a die hard ice cream fanatic....this is the best....you can also slice a strawberry on top when they are in season for a sweeter taste.....you become addicted just like me

Re: Positively addictive fat free dessert

I am not sure what types of dessert that most people like but I have found that I love the Yoplait Light Yogurts. They come in flavors that are desserts, my favorite being the Strawberry Shortcake and the Pineapple upside down cake. I love the other flavors also but these are my favorites.... they are fat free and only have 100 calories and you get the calcuim from the dairy..... I bring one everyday with my lunch to work and I feel like I have dessert everyday and therefore I don't feel the need to cheat...

Re: Positively addictive fat free dessert

One idea might be to have sweets before dinner, especially if you are at home. This way, you can have your sweets, eat dinner and not be so full and wont have those late cravings. or at least less of them.

Re: Positively addictive fat free dessert

im a big fan of skinny cow too. and italian ice's. also i like to freeze fat free yogurt and eat it with a milkshake spoon. (the spoon end is smaller so it takes longer to eat and i feel more satisfied with my snack) frozen strawberries with angel food cake is very low fat or no fat if you use ff whip cream. its like a strawberry short cake.

I'm going to try the skinny cow. I've heard of it. I've had the frozen strawberries with angel food cake and it is terrific. Weight watches makes a 2-pack of mint chocolate chip ice cream cups sold in Walmart for $2.00 at 3.5 grams per little cup. The  premeasured way for me is the way to go. Thanks for the tip about skinny cow. I'm going to try it. I'm new to this whole alli plan and have lost 4 pounds. I can do this!
