    Re: Subway

    Try this http://www.subway.com/applications/NutritionInfo/index.aspx

It's the nutrition info for the chain. Most dining chains (fast food included) have this info on their sites. It's a lifesaver!

    Re: Subway

I have been on the Alli Plan since Jan 01 SW-223  CW-192  GW-135  Only 57 lbs. to go...I love Subway too...before I started taking Alli my idea of a great sub would be Spicy Italian with lots of  mayo and cheese extra of course...Now what I do is order turkey or chicken...no mayo...no cheese...lots of veggies I take it home put fat free cheese on it bake it in the oven and when its done I add low or no fat mayo...taste is really great... add some lite ruffles potato chips which are no fat and there you go your under your 18 grams. I do this a couple times a week ... A 12 inch sub is 2 meals for me now I used to be able to eat it all at once...Good Luck

    Re: Subway

I order a footlong veggie delight. For the first 8 weeks, it didn't have cheese. (I went about 3 times). Now, I order it with pepperjack cheese. I believe olives have fat so pay attention to that. Or, you can omit the cheese and add avocado. They usually are really good at serving sizes. Avocado has fat (good fat) but, fat nonetheless, and Alli does not discriminate ;o)

I also omit mayo, using mustard. Wheat bread.

    Alli start 12/30/07

    SW 222 lbs - CW 168.5 lbs

    I've lost 53.5 lbs!

    I HIT NORMAL BMI 24.9 on 8/10/08!

    (I was 32.8 Obese!)

    Re: Subway

I started on March 07,2008.  My starting wieght is 224 hopefully things will look good for me when  I do my first check in on 03-15.  I am glad to hear about Subway.  I recently had started cutting back on fast food and would only go to Subway for the turkey sub.I used the honey mustard on mu sub.   Am I wrong for doing that?  I also like the info on lite ruffles.

    Thanks for information.

    Re: Subway

Auja, try www.subway.com. They have the items w/ individual nutrition values listed. I think on subway's site, you can "build your own sub". Add items, and the site will calculate the nutrition info for you. All the chain and fast food restaurants have this info. on their sites. If you have to eat out a lot, it's a life saver.

    Re: Subway

I just order from the menu that has all the items with 6 grams of fat or less and watch the addons -- pick the heavy whole grain breads and nix the mayo and the olives -- I have found that adding cheese puts about 3 or 4 more grams though so I only have cheese about half the time! Go Jared!

    Re: Subway

Funny you should ask.  I just signed on to the message board to share what I had for lunch today and the total fat grams was 15.5 and it was delicious, I just wonder if I could eat this a few times a week and get away with it....

Turkey sub on wheat 6 inch sub roll

I loaded it with lettuce, green peppers, cucumbers, hots, swiss cheese, (which BTW is 4.5 fat grams) onions and lite mayo.  Bag of baked lays and a diet coke (yuk, I rather drink water but it was the packaged deal and I wanted the chips to make up the fat to 15 grams for this meal)

so the total of fat was 15.5 and it was so good.  There are a list of subs that are 6 fat grams or less.  Check out their nutricent site.

    good luck

    Re: Subway

I've made up a song for all of you fellow SubWay fans who can't get enough of the place:

I love you sub of the day

I stroke your food even though I eat at your restaurant

when I'm walking down the street and I see SubWay

and it's looking at my face, but I can't afford it

I go to town and sell some stuff and it's so surreal

Then I get some money and buy a sub meal!

Hope you like it, it took some serious hard work to get that thing done!

    Re: Subway

On Wednesday the sub of the day is Turkey Breast.

I order a 6 inch on wheat or honey oat bread with mozzerella cheese (lower in fat than other cheeses, but you have to ask for it), spinach (lettuce if they don't have spinach), tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, onions, olives and spicy mustard or guacamole if available....

All very yummy and fairly healthy for just $2.50 :)

    Re: Subway

Hey all, my hubby, who eats at Subway all of the time, says that they do have lite mayo, so I'll take his word for it and pass it on.  And just a note to all sanwhich lovers (me included) I was on Subway.com and noted that the 6gram of fat turkey sub had about 1,000mg of sodium and others had over 2,000mg.  I don't know how closely you all watch that, but I know it really threw my sodium off for the day.  Have to watch out for those deli meats, they're loaded, but oh so yummy!  You can see on their site about how much sodium is in each sub on the nutritional charts.
