    Help Husband wants pizza tonight!!

I've lost 20lbs so far. But here recently I fell off the wagon for a couple weeks, didn't gain, but didn't loose. I've been on track now for a week. Although I haven't been taking the alli because for some strange reason even though I'm not having TE's my hemmoroids have been bleeding. But My husband called me at worked and told me to stop and get pizza on my way home. How do YOU handle those situations? I can't just eat one peice so I may as well not eat any, but then he'll be like "well you shouldn't have got it" and all that. someone advise me on how to handle this......

Jessica I need as much help as I can get!!! I am open and welcome any thoughts or advice that you may have. We are all trying to reach the same goal here and I am glad I came.

Re: Help Husband wants pizza tonight!!

Hi there!  Well, when me and the hubby have pizza cravings I go to Wal-Mart and buy a 4 cheese Freshetta pizza.  Not only are they healthier than the norm pizza, but you can actually have 1/5 of the pizza and stay within your calories and fat grams.  If that is not an option, buy a Med. Pizza at the eatery of your hubby's choice then whatever he doesn't eat save for his lunch/dinner tomorrow, and you eat something of your choice.  If he says "well you shouldn't have got it" tell him that it was what he wanted, and just because your dieting doesn't mean he has to.

I hope some of that helps!

Re: Help Husband wants pizza tonight!!

How about picking up your husband's pizza and then making a pizza for yourself.  When it's pizza at my house I'll make my own little pizza with pita bread, tomato paste, garlic powder, fat free cheese, and turkey pepperoni.

Congrats on the 20 pounds lost!

Hi, Pizza I can not live without!  I have lost 60lbs and I still eat pizza. Order a Vegi that's what I do. If you don't eat what you want, life would be miserable. Eat a big salad with it too. You can do this friend!

Re: Help Husband wants pizza tonight!!

I second the pita bread idea--it's my favorite "guilty pleasure"! You can also put all sorts of toppings on it too- I usually put turkey pepperoni , green peppers and onion. YUM!

Re: Help Husband wants pizza tonight!!

Pita is so versatile!  Here are a couple other things I like to make with pita...YUM!

I'll put a pita pocket into the steamer to make it pliable.  Then, I'll put a sugar-free pie filling inside of the pocket and then bake it in the toaster oven for 10-15 minutes.  Bingo - fruit pie!

The other thing I like is my version of chocolate mousse pie.  I tear a pita pocket in half and put it in the toaster oven for 10 minutes.  While that is baking I'll mix together fat free Cool Whip and either sugar free pudding or fat free pudding (depends on what's in the fridge).  When the pitas are done I'll put the mousse on the pita crust.  Too yummy!

There are so many other things I make with pita bread...I rarely eat tortillas or bread.

    Cheers,

    Patti

Wow just browsing through the boards and come across these, I really like the sounds of the pie and the pizza idea's for pita's.  Something different and sounds so good.  I will have to give them a try.

I love pizza too. I eat only one piece (an improvement over eating 2 like I used to!). It helps me to not feel deprived.

Hi Sherry50- This is off topic of the pizza discussion~ I was just curious how long it took you to get to your current weight from your start weight with Alli- I am 5'8 and I started last week at your alli weight start- I lost 3lbs! I am very excited! Just curious to see how long it has taken you and if you have any tips for a newbie!!! Thanks!

Most pizza places serve salad as well. Order a nice salad for yourself and let him have his pizza. As long as you are eating together as a family it shouldn't matter. Keep up the good work...I am looking forward to that 20 lb mark myself.

Re: Help Husband wants pizza tonight!!

Hi allifan,  I'm a alli fan too! I started Alli at 207 last Nov.07 and I lost 30lbs by Feb 08 which was pretty fast and easy then it started slowing down which is OK too. I'm still working towards a goal. I did change my eating habits and started a exercise program. I feel Alli is the boost I needed because before Alli I had tried everything to no avail.  I'm happy to say today I'm healthy and happy thanks to Alli.  Congrats! to the 3lbs gone and you're on the slippery slope downward to a healthy new body. Keep up the hard work because you're worth it! Good Luck and let me know how you're doing.

Re: Help Husband wants pizza tonight!!

I have been on alli for a week now and have lost a couple of pounds.  When I noticed your start date and weight and look at your current weight, you have done a wonderful job in the time frame that you did it in.  Please tell me what you did/do in order for you to stay focused and of course what you eat.

I want to maximize my weight loss like you did.

Re: Help Husband wants pizza tonight!!

I know this is probably a little too late for last night, but I love pizza too. Here's a couple of options:

Definitely go for the pita-pizza! Using low-fat or made-from-skim cheese, with a low-calorie pizza or tomato sauce and veggie stuffings are great for keeping on track, and can end up really feeling. Try spreading your pizza sauce on the inside of the pita, then stuff with baby spinach, fresh mushrooms, slices of cherry tomato, and any other veggie you like. Top with the cheese and pop in the microwave or skillet to cook. Only takes a couple of minutes and you've got yourself a healthy alternative.

If you like regular, tomato-cheese-and-crust pizzas, try mini-serving pizzas. Using whole wheat tortillas (or one matzo, if you're Jewish), bake at a low temperature until they're just starting to crisp. Top with your favorite toppings (go easy on the sauce if you use the matzo - holes!) and serve. Matzo pizza is really good!
