Hi Chelsea,
Feeling "starving" is never a good thing. Your tank is running on empty when you feel that way. Your body knows that and then starts to hang on to your fat reserves to protect you.
I don't work at a restaurant, but do work long hours. Those single serve fruit bowls are my go to snack. Pretzels without salt on top are another. I keep whole wheat bread, Dijon mustard, and Alpine Lace Swiss in the fridge at work if I have to eat and run.
If the chefs want to help you, why not have a close look at the Alli dinner meal plan? Maybe you could ask for a piece of pork tenderloin or fish and then complete the meal when you get home.
If you're working 10-10, you could have breakfast at home, and bring two cold lunches from the Alli menu, even if it's a simple sandwich. You will still want something when you get home, so now you've got extra calories and fat grams to spend on a "mega snack" that will be lighter than trying to eat dinner at 11 PM when you're dog tired.
Your post is a couple of weeks old. I hope you're still out there, checking in and looking for support friends here. We're all in this together!
Success to you,
Mary
