    Re: Sun flower seeds.

I am  very new to ALLI (so new that I am doing the pre ALLI dieting to try to clear myself of the fat I have been eating!)  Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but I would think sunflower seeds are fine as long as it is part of the balanced food plan you're eating.  Nuts arte very healthy in limited portions.  I am extremely aware of fat grams all of a sudden, and I plan on having a half serving of sunflower seeds sometimes.  Again, someone *please* let me know if this is incorrect.

    Re: Sun flower seeds.

the only thing i would say is that half a serving is still 7.5g of fat, so you need to ask yourself if that fills you up enough for 7.5g of fat to be devoted to it you know?  My fat intake per meal is 15 g, that is half my fat intake and i know i would need to eat a lot more to get full.  And I am pretty sure that is too much fat per calorie amount for a snack (check the alli healthy guide that came with the starter pack).  i think you can do it, but just be aware you know?

    Re: Sun flower seeds.

Nuts are very healthy but as with anything in excess they become a nuissance. I would recommend trying pumkin seeds they are lower in calories per serving without the change in flavor. I also recommend trying to buy whatever seeds you like in the purest forms without flavorings such as ranch and barbeque. Try to eat them with the shells still on they will reduce the amount you eat in the duration. Also portion control is also something you should practice while enjoying them. Keep in mind salted seeds are very high in sodium and should be avoided if you have high blood pressure. Have fun snacking =D!

    Re: Sun flower seeds.

All good ideas- thanks!  I actually prefer eating nuts in shell to keep me a bit more occupied and to drag out the time it takes to eat them!
