Re: What did YOU eat on July 4th??

We had a bar-b-q at work.

For Breakfast:  Fruit salad with raisin toast with butter

For Lunch:  Hamburger bun, hamburger with mustard, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, a taste of spinach salad, 1/4 chocolate chip cookie, coconut pound cake.

For dinner:  Pan Seared Salmon with stir-fried vegatables.  The vegetables were carrots and zucchini.  Dessert was watermelon.

    A very good day.

Re: What did YOU eat on July 4th??

i did real good until i went to a party.. they had all or the usual high fat .. stuff there, hot dogs, brats, potatoe salad, brownies chips.. the only thing i could eat was the watermelon and the vegies (no dip).. so i did pretty good at first.. until i had a couple of vanilla rums and diet cokes..i had probably 500 cals over my limit and 20 fat grams over my limit (for the day).. luckily no TEs and i feel fine today.. good thing that i worked out and ate lightly before i went..i think that that helped my cause.. before alli i know i would have eaten whatever and however much i wanted.. by the way vanilla rum is very tasty 69 cals, 0 fg with a diet coke.. ok i fell off the wagon.. but today i am climbing back on.. tomorrow is my weigh in.. so was i the only "bad girl??"

highest weight all time 197 size 20 12/26/07 alli start weight 187 size 18 -- 6/28/08 171 size 14 - GOAL weight 135 size 8 every journey starts with the first step.. after that it is one foot in front of the other

Re: What did YOU eat on July 4th??

Staying at home really helped.  I made cornish hens in the crock pot, and measured out enough the size of a deck of cards, then had veggies to go with it, with a 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes.

On Saturday I had a healthy choice meal for lunch with a slice of bread and butter to get the extra fat and calories needed.  Then for dinner I had a salad with added mushrooms, tomato, and apple slices.  My husband hardly eats anything because he's ill, so we don't always eat the same thing.  So, for me to make a salad for dinner is pretty ordinary.  So, for the weekend I've done really well.

Yesterday while I was looking for the fat and calorie count for my healthy choice dinner, I nearly had a heart attack!  I looked at the high fat, high calorie one my husband had eaten.  It said 25 g of fat.  I thought, "How could I read that wrong in the store?"  I knew I had already taken my blue pill, so I thought I would be in a bunch of trouble.  Then I realized I looked at the Marie Collander dinner instead!  Whew!  Mine was 4 g of fat.  I'm pretty proud of how good I'm doing so far, but I am writing everything down, and keeping my nutrition log on this site.  It helps, I think.  I know in the past I've been really good on diets for about 3 weeks, then I get bored, so I know that taking this little pill really helps keep those fat grams down.
