    Re: Fatty liver disease

     Hi G,

Thank you for posting this.  I sure would like to know what the Alli experts have to say.  I'm on blood pressure meds and also Vitorin for cholesterol, both of which I'd like to stop taking eventually.  6 months ago, my doctor sent me for an ultrasound and then to a surgeon for a consultation about fatty deposits on my liver.  He told me it wasn't all that serious and that I simply need to lose weight.  He said that organs get fat just like any other part of the body.   So here I am, losing weight.  When I started Alli in mid June, I cut the Vitorin, don't tell my doc :-) in half.  Interestingly, my blood work last week actually showed that my cholesterol was better than six months prior.  Diet and exercise is definately helping, but with Alli in the equation, I'm wondering if that's contributing to the better cholesterol levels as well?

    Re: Fatty liver disease

Sorry I don't, but I also was diagnosed with Fatty Liver, and was told by my doctor that I need to lose weight ASAP, seeing that the Liver does not like these deposits and this will worsen over time if nothing is done, such as cirrhosis. He advised me that if I can not lose the weight I should consider the Gastric Bypass. I opted out of that choice for now, in which he prescribed me Xenecal (not covered under prescription plan) so he said for me to use the Alli program. He also suggested OTC "Milk Thistle" which supports liver health.

SO, today is day one on Alli... Best wishes on your weight loss trip! Hope my comments assisted in a small way,
