    Skinny Magarita Recipe...for those who need and deserve a cocktail!

     

    Hi,All:  I am going into my 4th week on Alli and I am down 6lbs. I loved my nightly glass(s) of wine and it's been pretty tough to go from those to maybe 4 oz. I must say quite the shock to realize what I had been drinking versus a actual serving. I am still shocked that 4 oz. of wine is considered a serving. I am willing and committed to eating better and doing ALLI but giving up the dreaded "A"--NOT HAPPENING!So, with that said and everything in moderation. CHEERS!

    Skinny Girl Magarita Recipe:(less carbs and a bit of fiber to boot)

    8 Strawberries,6 ice cubes,3 packets of Splends(i use less),2-3 oz. rum,and 1 oz. fresh lime juice. BLEND AND ENJOY!

     Great receipe! Have you still been able to drink on the plan?  How much, how often to keep the weight off?  I just started yesterday.

     Hey:

    Yes, I have continued to drink on the plan! Although, I have really toned down from the norm. I probably have one cocktail per night and maybe 2-4 per one weekend night. I simply factor the cocktails into my calories. On my one splurge weekend night I usually have a lite breakfast less than 5 grams and really watch my cals/fat at lunch and dinner. It's really not that hard to factor the cocktail calories in my daily. The one thing I have to be really on top of is the dreaded munchies that can come along with drinking. So, if I am going out to a pub I will pack a ziploc with low fat pretzels or ordered something low fat from the menu like hummus and pita. I do the same if the girls and I are hanging at each other's home. Due to this crazy plan I am down 6lbs in three weeks! I hope you will do well and best of luck!

     With rum, it sounds like a lite strawberry frozen daiquiri.  I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like a nice occassional treat.

    Using 8 medium strawbwerries and 2.5 oz of rum, the nutrition log says this recipe is 220 calories, 0 fat, 10 grams carbohydrate, 2 grams fiber and 90% daily Vitamin C.

    The nutrition log says 8.75 oz of red wine is also 220 calories, 0 fat, but it doesn't have the fiber or vitamin C.
