    nightly vitamins

Hello! I am new to the alli plan and wonder if it is necissary to take the daily vitamin at night?  I find that the daily vitamin wakes me up and I am having difficulty falling asleep since starting it- after speaking to my doctor she said this is a common problem due to the vit B in it. Also on the bottle of most vitamins it says to take it with a meal. Would it be a problem taking the vitamin at any other time of day?

    Re: nightly vitamins

The reason the multi is recommended at bedtime is that is when there is least likely to have the fat-blocking capsules interfere with the absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E & K.

Overall, the B-vitamins are compounds that help with the metabolism of protein, carbohydrates and fat.  Though they have a few other functions I'm not familiar with anything related to sleep patterns.  You might try a powdered supplement - available in Target and WalMart (and probably some health food stores), and see if that helps.

Please let me know if you need anything else.
