    It's almost time

It's almost time for lunch and my first time going to take the alli pill. I am so nervous, my stomach is in knots. I am having 8-10 grams of fat today for lunch. I am just nervous because I dont' want any surprises.

Here is a questions: Yesterday I had a brownie (oops) at 7pm, it was really good though. Anyways, will the pill work on the brownie because I am sure it will give me treatment effects?

I am not sure if you will even get my post since I posted several items and it has been well over an hour and none of them have went through.

Anyway - I hear it is +/- 1 hour from when you take the pill.  Also - any chance it was a low fat brownie?  I like brownies, that is one of my weaknesses ;-)

Not sure if that helped, but good luck!

Trust me it was not a low fat brownie. Fat as fat can be. lol. Last piece of chocolate before I started my diet

    Re: It's almost time

     Hi SK,

I hope you went ahead as planned and started your Alli capsules.  You'll know soon enough if that brownie was over the limits.  If it was, you've now got first hand experience as to what a TE is :-)

Everyone at work loves chocolate.  There are all kinds of candy jars around with Hershey Kisses and stuff in it.  For folks like me who have a hard time passing a jar like that without sticking my fingers in it, Alli is a blessing.  I know I can't or will suffer the consequences.  I put my "rescue jars" of stick pretzels next to every candy dish I found and plenty of water in the fridge aside the Pepsi's.  It's all about choices.

Good luck and keep posting.  You'll find lots of great Allis on ths board!

    Mary

    Re: It's almost time

    Hi,

Do hope your first day on Alli was successful.

A point of information.  Alli will block the fat on food that has been consumed within 2 hours of that dose.  The brownie that you ate the night before starting starting the program would not be causing you any effect.

While you are following the plan, you will be finding suitable alternatives to satisfy your sweet tooth or desire for chocolate.  You do not need to totally avoid these treats, but to learn to moderate and find lower fat options.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: It's almost time

sktwirler -- hope your first day was successful. I have only been on the pill for a week but have had no bad experiences at all. As was previously said -- it is all about the choices you make. I am a huge ice cream fanatic and being on WW I have learned how to include it in my daily food groups. Now being on the pill, I have found a sugar free, lot fat ice cream that is awesome -- I have one cup every night with dinner! Satisfies my fix for ice cream and solves the craving for something sweet!

Good luck and let us know how your week goes -- lots of support on the forums so check back often.
