Hi Linda, I'm glad you're feeling better everyday. You and Elia better stop having that contest of who can get sick the most, not a good contest. You are probably doing too much too. Stop and smell the roses, they're wonderful. You just motivated me to make some ground turkey chili. I don't really like ground turkey but I'm thinking if I throw everything in a crock pot and let it cook for several hours it might make it a little more tender and give it a chance to absorb all the other flavors. I'm off to the Farmers Market right now to get some fresh produce, so on the way home I'll stop at the grocery store and get the stuff for the chili. Mmmm.
Our family did draw names for awhile, but some people (like me) cheated and bought for everybody, so it didn't work. I think $25 will work though, there are so many little things to buy for people, it's really easier than trying to think up the perfect bigger gift. For instance, I think those brownie pans on the infommerical are cool, with the divider thing that bakes them into individual pieces and then the bottom comes out after baking. They are $20 and nothing I would buy for myself, and quite possibily nothing I would use more than once, if ever. But it's a good thing to put on my Christmas list, easy for somebody and cheap. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the holiday season much more with this limit on everything.
Yesterday I decided I would try a yogurt-only day. I figured if I bought ten yogurts at 100 calories each, and ate one every 1-1/2 hours, I would definiitely lose a little weight, and it would be just for one day. Then Brenna, my 16-year old granddaughter called. She was off school for the day and knew I was off work. She has a little part-time job, and bless her heart, she wanted to take me out to lunch at Chevy's. Good bye yogurt. I had chicken fajitas, which really aren't too bad, the chicken is grilled. Of course, I wouldn't let her pay for lunch, but the fact that she wanted to was very sweet. We spent her lunch money on some eye liner for her at Macy's!
Love you guys,
Judy
