Hello There,

I have been on alli for a few months now, I noticed that I lost my appetite so I stopped taking it about July. I am still losing weight. I have anxiety , nervouse stomach, depression. I have never experienced that before. I have never lost my appetite. I noticed that the fact sheet for orlistat lists that anxiety and depression are side effects. I just want to know if these side effects will go away some time soon.

Alli is not associated with causing anxiety or depression.  People may have reported these symptoms while on orlistat, but there is no significant difference over people who have been an placebo. If you are feeling this way you need to check it out with your physician.

Effects caused by alli are time limited and would be gone after 72 hours after the last dose.  Alli is minimally absorbed into the blood (less than 5%) and has no systemic effect, meaning it has no effect on the central nervous system, the heart or the brain.
