    great first week

Today was my first weigh in....7 POUNDS!!!! yeah me!!!  I know it is more than recommended but it will certainly keep me motivted!! I am finding it very difficult to eat the calories I need and don't get anywhere near the fat limit...but I eat three meals and a snack or two...I eat until I am full...I added moderate exercise...my girls and I are walking thirty minutes a couple days a week.  I have not had any treatment effects.  I have very little appetite and more energy than ever.  So far I couldn't be happier with Alli!  I am looking forward to next Mondays weigh in...never thought I would say that!!!

    Re: great first week

Congratulaions on losing the seven-pound backpack!  Feels good, doesn't it?  I'm sure you know you won't continue to lose seven pounds every week, but just one or two will keep you healthy and keep it off.  Good luck!

    Re: great first week

I am still here and really sticking to it. I hope you all will be here with me. I wore a business suit to work about 4 weeks ago when I 1st started alli and I put a spanx underneath to help tuck in my tummy but still snug. Well you wont believe it I wore the same outfit yesterday and I kept pulling my pants up !!!! There is no doubt Alli works if you stick to it !!! Thanks Hess & Paint and all My new "loser" friends !!!

    Re: great first week

Hey mwok...good for you!!!  Glad to hear how well you are doing. Doesn't it feel good to hit little milestones like your tight pants loosening up!!  I needed to hear some good news...even though you are not suppose to weigh daily I HAVE to!!  I can't stand it!!  All week I have been up a pound...down a pound...that pound has bounced all over the place! lol  I have decided it has to be eating too little fat and calories..because yesterday I ate a big meal and today down that one pound!!!  ARGH!  Go figure!  My friend told me that the other day that she thought that was the reason...now I agree.  Crazy huh???  Trying to lose weight...feeing good...not hungry...and finding out you're not eating enough!!!  INSANE!!  Oh well, so I am gonna work on that and getting more exercise...weather has been keeping me in this week...rain. rain go away!

    Re: great first week

    Hey!

Great job on your first week! I love reading the stories.

I actually work for GlaxoSmithKline...the company that makes Alli (but..I never actually worked on it...its a huge company..and I work on a completely different division that has nothing to do with Alli..hehe..). But in any case, I stopped by the company store a couple wks ago and bought the 90 day starter kit. It sat on my dining room table for 2wks before I got up the nerve to take it. I kept hearing about the Treatment Effects, so I was kinda scared. But - in those 2 wks..I read as much as I could about Alli, and stocked up my fridge/pantry with healthier foods. I started eating low-fat a few days before I took it, and then I finally took  Alli for the first time last night after a healthy dinner (I'm Indian..so I usually eat Indian food....which, if you make it at home, is SOOO much healthier than the food at indian restaurants). I also don't eat a lot of meat usually either....but get a lot of my protein from lentils, beans, etc.

Well..so far so good. I know its just my 2nd day...but I need to take it 1 day at a time. No TE's yet either.

I am 5'5", 168lbs. I don't look like I weigh that much, b/c my doctor told me most of it is muscle/bone weight, which is very good..., but my BMI is still 27, and also my cholesterol is borderline of normal and high. I'm a size 10 - but my clothes are fitting kinda snug right now. So - altho I may not be big, I think I could stand to lose some weight to get healthy, and get rid of excess fat. My goal right now is to get down to 160lb. After that I will set another goal. I think I want my goal weight to be about 145lb. I don't really want to be lose much more than that, b/c I like my curves! :)

Please keep the stories coming, I love to read them to get motivated - and hopefully I can post my own stories of weightloss on here soon!!!

    SW: 168

    CW: 168

GW: 160 (will change GW after I hit that!).

welcome sharara...we have really similar stats...I am 5' 5.5" and I started at 174...down to 167 after first week.  This week not losing anything! argh!  But...no treatment effect either...my best friend started Alli yesterday and already had TE's today...I will have to get her to post too since ya'll have same start dates...might be good encouragement for you both!  You hang in there and keep us posted!

    Re: great first week

ARGH!!!!  The dreaded TE'S!!!  My grandmother visiting from out of state and my parents and kids, etc all went out for a family dinner last night.  At my urging we picked a buffet restaraunt so I would have a chance of picking good foods.  I did great first trip...filled up at the salad bar...fat free dressing...lots of veggies...then went back to the "real" food...and loaded up on  cooked veggies...couldn't resist a little chunk of steak and a little dessert....ok Alli you win!  I learned my lesson!  And to top it off I am a habitual "weigher" and three of the seven pounds I dropped last week found their way home!  I am so disgusted with myself today!!   I have hit the water bottle today and getting plum serious about this! lol  Letme know how ya'll are doing this week???  And darnit...weigh in is tomorrow! :(

    Re: great first week

I'm enjopying this thread because it makes me relive the first couple of months of my program.  Everything you guys are going through is quite normal.  I laugh about the scale obsession because 15 months later I still have it.  Two scales, side-by-side they sit, and I am on them at least twice a day.  But I figure, so what?  I could never wait a week to weigh in because since your weight can fluctuate as much as 7 pounds a day, what if that is the day it's up 7 pounds?  Nope, everyday for me.  The main thing to remember is how long it took you to gain it, and that it will take awhile to lose it too.  I am three pounds away from goal, after having lost 55 pounds, and it JUST WON'T GO AWAY!
